Anyway, Sylvia is good enough to compete with Mirko and possibly beat him. Sylvia is very competent on his feet these days and VERY difficult to get inside of. If Sylvia fights to a plan, he will force Cro Cop onto the front foot; something he isn't terrific at doing.

Watch the Coleman fight; he was pretty good at getting cornering him. Same with the Yoshida fight, the Minowa fight... You're acting like no one's ever run from CroCop, which is silly. CroCop is patient, and he won't engage Sylvia until he has Sylvia corrnered. If Sylvia's back is two feet from the cage, it's not like he can dart away. Is it his favorite position to be in? No, but he's going to ass-rape Sylvia.

Watch the Coleman fight; he was pretty good at getting cornering him.
He should be. Coleman was a 40 year old wrestler, who looked only to shoot and when that didn't work; lure Cro Cop in so he could shoot. He faced absolutely no threat of strikes vs. Coleman.
Same with the Yoshida fight
What was Yoshida going to do? Judo Chop him to death?

Not so and Sylvia won't run. Thats the difference between fighting to a plan, on the backfoot and running. Sylvia has the advantage of size, range and IMO, hands. Mirko would have a world of trouble closing the gap and would have to bum rush the clinch OR (shock horror) look for a take down.

I never understood all the hate for Sylvia. Maybe it's because he doesn't 'look' like he should be Heavyweight Champion. But the truth is, he can bang, he's got a decent chin, he's hard to take down and he's a smart fighter who keeps getting better.
Hopefully they don't rush Cro-Cop\Sylvia. Let there be some build up. Let Cro-Cop fight Arlovski first at least. Then make this a mega-fight.

Tym Sylva's a big bum, he's gonna get rapped badly by Cro-cop if the fight ever comes off.
Sylvia also has TIMING to go with that reach which could pay off huge dividends in countering that high kick. Or it could work against him if Mirko can disrupt that timing with low right kicks as Sylvia lead leg will be there to be tagged.

it'll be like most of his fights were the low kick sets up the left high kick
