What's your opinion of him

I know he's considered a legend by some (mostly the bruce Lee fan, aka people who believe hype, and don't have any logic to back it), but I think he was a pretty average fighter. average jijitsu, weak take downs, and horrible standup (stalking with his hands by his waist)

He's undefeated, but who has he actually fought? Does he even fight anymore?

yeah really average jiu jitsu:rolleyes:

you know easily dominating one of the worlds best p4p grapplers (Royler Gracie) in his early 40s...dominating current Pride top contender Paulo Filho at over 45 yrs of age...even Master Carlson Gracie(R.I.P)acknowledged Rickson's superiority to his own fighters (Wallid Ismael the Gracie killer in particular)

Not to mention two time Brazilian national wrestling champion(183 LBS) and gold medalist in the world sambo championships...

Oh and beating Funaki in his 40's...(the same Funaki who submitted Bas, Ken and Frank Shamrock) in MMA choking him out cold in the process.

Nobody in today's MMA has jiu-jitsu as good as Rickson's...unless you count Roger Gracie who has had one fight, or Marcelo Garcia.

weak takedowns?? average "jijitsu"?? cmon man,i know u know your mma...but you are very off base here.
