Pretty damn slow for a super featherweight?

I have just watching his latest fight against honmo, it's easier to judge him here than a 1st round knockout.

He also has a shitty, pawing right jab, and an often very laboured straight left, sometimes thrown like a spastic. It's amazing he has managed to destroy so many opponents.

He took a few flush shots from honmo, particularly in round 8, he was stopped in his tracks, but not hurt. But honmo is feather fisted so who knows.

Also the strange thing is, his straight left really looks like an arm punch. He doesn't get the full extension like pacman and punch through his opponent.

Which leads me to believe maybe he has horseshoes in his gloves?

Either way, I certainly don't dislike valero. In fact I like almost any aggressive, attacking fighter. However, I really don't think he is much good. Heir to pacman my arsehole.

Pacman would fuck him up brutally, it would not even be a fight. Within the first 3 rounds valero would be bludgeoned unconscious.

Valero is the most inept title claimant I have ever seen this side of Elisha Obed and "Smoke" Gainer.
The guy stinks as a fighter.

you serious? I mean, the guy has nothing but victories and he has never been close of losing either so how can you judge him that way?

I trust Karl's opinion of Valero. Karl is a noted world champion and his opinion about other world champions should be taken seriously. Unlike us, keyboard warriors, Karl knows what it's like to be a world champion.

I call it as I see it.
Nothing but victories?
Some of the guys I have seen him fight should be banned from boxing for attempting to impersonate a punching bag.
Valero is terrible, he has no balance, no technique whatsoever, and no defense.
He fights like a drunk washerwoman in North Las Vegas at 3 AM fighting over the last available dryer at the laundromat.

As long as he keeps knocking everybody out, who cares how his balance or technique LOOKS? What matters is how it WORKS, and so far so good woulnd't you say?

Everybody has their own opinion, no problem there, but I think fighters should be ranked based on their success, not the way they look like. That goes for most of other sports too

The guy have pretty good skills, but lately he's been intent on KO'ing his opponents, and negating his counterpunching skills and his footwork. I guess when he steps up the competition, he would step his game up a level. He disposed of Mosquera with ease. Not everybody can do that.

What a pathetic bunch of bullshit euro-propaganda. If the fighter doesn't have the proper punching technique, footwork, or defence, then any successes he might have should not be taken into account. Boxing is as much of an art, as it is of a sport. If a boxer can't learn the fundamentals, then I don't care if he's knocking everyone the fuck out and gaining the world titles.

In my opinion, such a fighter would rank even below a fat, middle-aged punching bag who's never had a single professional bout.

I agree and I think banning Ugo is a correct step. He actually judges fighters by the results they achieve, rather than looking at their technique. What a moron.

Valero is a great fighter because he has the hairstyle of a norman Knight of the middle ages. His slightly tanned skin highlights the rock solid form beneath. Valero is hard and seemingly cut from marble.

Valero defines what being a good fighter is. The way his muscles ripple, and his hair flies in different directions when he throws a hook are divine. When the boxing gods thought of a fighter, Edwin Valero appeared nude with reyes gloves on his rock hard fists.

Valero is garbage as a fighter.

explain how he's 22-0 with 22KO's, a titlist, with a dominating win over Mosquera in Mosquera's backyard

So its OK for you to slag off a 130 pound midget who would literally dig you out whenever he wishes...based entirely on your opinion, not fact...but you take offense to a truthful claim about your hairline, or lack thereof?

No deal, baldy. :nono:

I don't usually get involved when discussions take a sideways course as this one has, but I do find it peculiar that StingerKarl would so heavily criticize Valero given the umbrage he often takes when other posters criticize fighters - or world champions - in a similar fashion that he does here with Valero.
