OK , Here is round 9 ....

This is a round where all you Floyd guys think Floyd CLEARLY won ...

Whatever , I'm not debating who won the round ...
I thought they both sucked ...

However , I want you to really see just how many punches Floyd misses over and over again ... His jab CONSTANTLY falls short and those that don't hit glove ...

Hardly anyone disagrees that Mayweather missed a lot of shots and that Oscar's parrying was on point.

What most people here (and on all the other boxing forums I've visited) believe is that De La Hoya lost because he was even LESS accurate than Mayweather.

ODH wins the rematch. can't wait. hopefully, we won't have to wait another year. if we do, i won't care by the time it happens. i'm hoping for a september rematch.

I wish I had some other rounds to show . There were rounds where Floyd missed even worse ...
However Youtube has pulled all the clips ...

The thing is , Floyd got credit for those worthless punches ..

Yeah, but De La Hoya missed a ton of punches in that round also.

No he didn't, that's why two of the judges had it so close at 7-5 for each fighter.

If he had gotten so much credit for it, it would've been 9-3 like some people had it for PBF, or more.

Clear Floyd round.

Seriously man , that round sucked so bad , it wasn't really clear either way ....
If you thought that round was so clear and cut in Floyds favor , you are obviously very biased ...

and now i'm saying he wins the rematch in a close fight. i already said PBF surprised me. i didn't think he'd handle ODH's power the way he did. he took a few solid ones that i didn't think he'd stand up to. he did. i give him credit. now it's time for him to be out-pointed.

What ?

All the work ??? Are you NUTZ ? What work ?

Lets get something straight. THAT ROUND SUCKED ....
Period ...

No-one did much of anything ... The fact that you just automatically gave that round to PBF in a clear cut fashion shows how biased you are ...
No fucking way that round was clear ... The round sucked so bad that it was very hard to score.
How you came to a clear cut Floyd round is beyond me ..
You say Floyd did all the work (what work ? ) Niether did much.
DLH pressed all the action what little bit there was ..

I'm not sure about the rematch. I can see Oscar being a little more active with his jab and the judges looking for reasons to give him rounds due to the "controversy" of this fight, but can Oscar pull another performance like that at this stage in his career?

Round 10 is the most dominating round....Oscar won 5 rounds IMO, but Mayweather dominated Oscar in round 10.....lead rights...jabs to the body, Oscar would immediately drop his guard to protect the body, Mayweather went to the head w/ lead rights..it happen 2 or 3 times...and DLH went for it every time...

That was pretty close. Oscar won most of the first minute, Floyd won most of the second minute, and Floyd BARELY wins most of the last minute. Floyd lieterally won that round by a matter of seconds

C'mon this is HBO. They have always ridden Oscar's nuts hard. They certainly weren't biased in Floyd's favor. I guess the best scenario would be to have Kellerman down at ringside squealing about Mayweathers "genius in the ring" while Lampley acts like he's getting zapped with an Orgazmatron every time Oscar throws an arm flurry.

I might have to kick my TV screen in, in disgust................but at least it will be fair.

historically, that's been the case. but Lampley's biggest loyalty is to HBO. and that's probably why he spent the fight calling out punch after punch thrown by PBF that hit nothing but gloves.

see. Lampley doesn't really watch the fight. what he does is to pick up on clues and hints offered him by Merchant and Steward, and then based on these, he interprets and articulates what's happening in the fight. and more often than not, he's completely wrong and misleading.

That's pretty much how every round went in the fight... Oscar pressing forward and landing shots to the shoulders and gloves of Floyd.. Floyd missing potshots with the occasional one landing clean.

The fight basically was:
Clean Punching - Floyd
Effective Aggressiveness - Oscar (Floyd had no aggressiveness)
Ring Generalship - Oscar (Floyd moved backwards almost constantly while Oscar kept the center of the ring)
Defence - Floyd (low % landed by Oscar)

I thought it was a decent round, but I agree, it could have gone any way. Probably a 10-10 in my book.

Key punches/moments in round 9:

2:30- De La Hoya lands a jab.
2:15- Mayweather lands a jab to the body (borderline low, but Oscar's protector is high) and a looping right hand to De La Hoya's ear over a low left hand.
2:00- De La Hoya throws a double jab, to the body and head. Body jab appears to miss but jab to the head lands.
1:52- Mayweather misses a left uppercut and misses straight right, follow up straight right to the head lands, left hook to the head lands, right hook misses, left to the body appears blocked and straight right hand misses.
1:37- De La Hoya lands jab to the head.
1:18- De La Hoya lands jab to the head
1:10- De La Hoya gets Mayweather to the ropes and the crowd goes nuts as Oscar flurries, but none of the flurry lands.
0:53- Mayweather lands a grazing looping right hand around De La Hoya's guard
0:49- Mayweather lands jab to body and a right to the body (glove hits beltline and skin)
0:45- Mayweather lands right hand to the side of De La Hoya's head
0:25- Mayweather darts in with a straight right and lands a grazing shot to De La Hoya's head.

De La Hoya's jabs aren't enough to take the round. Making it 10-10 is rather generous to De La Hoya.

Gimme some time and I'll have them for all of the rounds.

I usually edit the highlights of good fights and put them on highlight dvds.

On this one I spent a lot of time in slow mo to see what actually landed.

Here's the first two rounds.

Round 1:

2:30: Mayweather misses a leaping left hook, lands a right hand
2:25: Mayweather lands a leaping left hook
2:12: De La Hoya gets Mayweather on the ropes and lands some left hooks, but they are all low, or borderline low.
2:00: Mayweather lands a left jab to the face
1:35: Mayweather lands a left jab to the face
1:23: Mayweather lands a left jab to the face
0:17: De La Hoya lands a left hook to the nuts

Round 2:

2:34: De La Hoya misses two jabs, misses a left hook, misses a jab, Mayweather lands a left jab to the face
2:23: De La Hoya gets Mayweather near the ropes and misses two left hooks, misses a right, and misses another left hook. Mayweather leaps in with a left hook, but it appears that it's caught by De La Hoya's right glove (tough to see from the angle)
2:05: Mayweather lands a left jab to the face, De La Hoya misses a right hand, but his follow up left hook lands and his jab lands.
0:57: Mayweather retreating to the ropes, lands a grazing right hand, then takes a right to the body as he gets off the ropes, and then eats a De La Hoya jab that snaps his head back
0:48: Mayweather lands a jab to the face

Erratic

Round 3:

2:47: Mayweather near the ropes, lands a "pull-counter" over De La Hoya's jab, De La Hoya walks through it and throws some left hooks to the body. Tough to tell from the angle if it lands, but it appears a couple land under Mayweather's elbow, and a third lands on the beltline.

2:35: De La Hoya lands a straight left to the face as Mayweather gets off the ropes. Mayweather continues to retreat and De La Hoya attacks, but nothing legal lands (right to the back, low blow with a left). Mayweather lands a short right uppercut on the inside.

2:21: De La Hoya attacks Mayweather on the ropes, but nothing except a right hand to the back lands. Mayweather lands a short right hand to the body in return.

2:13: Mayweather lands a left jab to the face

1:52: Mayweather lands a short left hook to the face

1:18: Mayweather lands a left jab to the body

0:55: Mayweather lands an overhand right to the head

0:44: Mayweather lands another overhand right to the head

0:25: Mayweather lands a left jab to the face

Right before bell: Mayweather lands a leaping left hook to the head

Round 4:

2:52: De La Hoya lands a left jab to the head

2:44: De La Hoya lands a left hook to the head of a retreating Mayweather. De La Hoya tries to follow up but Mayweather slips and blocks the shots while getting off the ropes.

2:26: Mayweather lands a leaping left hook to the head

2:18: Mayweather lands a left jab to the face

2:06: De La Hoya throws a combo, tough to tell from the angle if they're landing, but the final left short hook lands. Mayweather smiles and lands a left jab to the face

1:08: De La Hoya presses Mayweather to the corner, Mayweather holds De La Hoya's right hand, De La Hoya lands about eight left hooks to the body and beltline with his free hand. Lampley forgets that De La Hoya has always been a good bodypuncher and acts like it's something new for him to go to the body.

0:58: De La Hoya lands a left jab to Mayweather on the ropes, Mayweather slips the follow up right hand and blocks the left hook and avoids another right. Mayweather throws a right hand but his head is in the way so we can't see if it misses or lands. Mayweather throws a left-right, but it doesn't appear to get through De La Hoya's guard.
