Nope! I got soft little hands, hands more designed for feeling other men's sweaty bodies! Where's the 'assf*cking' icon?

do you aspire to be a bender, LOK?

not so much really.. but I have always had pretty strong hands and I like training them as it's somthing you can do while at work etc.. I'm going to order the 2 and 3 COC grippers.. I think the 3 must be pretty hard. I've been doing some block weight stuff lately and want to get or make a "blob" as well

i'd like to strenghen my grip for rock climbing

what i do now is just hang from a bar at home, and then stand around with weights in my hands

what's your routine?

how often do you train your grip?

is there a site outlining some excercises?

it's possible sure, but IMO not really a concern unless you are really going hard core

Dayum! I need to get one!

I'm just waiting until I move as I already have everything packed away..including my #1

Do you think I should close it the first try?

Buddy Rydell
05-23-2007, 07:27 AM
It wouldn't surprise me if you have a very good grip. Mine is better than average, but it is my fingers and not the muscles in my palm that are the strong point. To close the #2, you have to have a damn good pinchgrip.

I'm workin my pinch now, using block weights and also just with tennis/rubber balls at high volume.

Well, I have a plate-loaded grip machine in the basement, and I was closing 150 on it, but I couldn't close the #2 Captains of Crush. We'll see this summer when I finish heavy training.

what's the #1 COC gripper like? how many reps can you do of it? i just have some regular grippers you can get from any store :dunno: i shit all over them...not sure if the 1 COC would be a step up or not....plus i dont wanna buy them and find out i cant make a dent in them at all

LOK
05-23-2007, 10:46 PM
cool man,

if you can destroy the store bought plastic ones then I'd get the #1 that's what I did. I think it was pretty tough at first and I always felt I had a strong grip. I worked at a gym for years and at night would put all the weights away and carrying around the 45's and 100 lb plates makes your forearms, hands strong.

I can kill the #1 now.. I wanna order #2

I'd say go for the #1, if you can easily do the store ones, I wouldn't waste my time with the "trainer"

i think i'm gonna get into it :bears:

ha ha.. I cant find that pic.. on my PC or on any of the photo sites I've used..

I wouldn't say POPEYE at all but I guess I have good sized forearms.. I was one of the few thta could carry the 100 plate with one hand witha pinch grip so that helped..

I stopped. :dunno:

I trained my grip like heck for awhile, and then I stopped. My grip has essentially stayed the same even though I don't train it.

Back in 2005, I had wicked finger strength, but the muscles in my palm were not so great. The tide has changed a bit, but since I have only been using the plate-loaded gripper, I haven't been specializing!

How are you doing with this?

LOK
06-11-2007, 10:19 AM
I actually started that and read a bunch about pushups and started doing on a little different, from a guy named Armstrong,

I'm still on a mission to get 100 and also to get Planche pushups, I do handstand pushups already

I want to do a planche, 100 pushups and a one armed chin

How are you doing with this?

I will get it, and post when I do

I wasn't using mine at at all. I think hanging from the bar is a great way to develop grip strength. I'm gonna get creative and make myself improve my grip big time. I need to be able to at least hold my bodyweight with one hand in order to get to one-armed chinups eventually.

LOK,
I heard today that Captains of Crush have released 1.5, 2.5, and others. So even though I am a hair away from closing the 2, I should be able to train on the 1.5 no problem. That would get me over the 2 for sure. I'm gonna look into getting them today!!!!

pretty cool..

All I have been doing for Grip is this Valeo heavy ball I keep in my car, I just crush it while I drive.. also my slow chins I do daily, I do them just with my fingers so my forearms get worked

I actually had someone at work comment the other day, someone said "WHAT have you been doing? Your forearms look like they are exploding"
