Pavlik is going to be overrated because he beat an obviously weight drained slugger in Miranda. In the first round I saw a shaky legged Miranda get backed up with absolutely no snap in his punches. That's when I knew Pavlik would eventually knock Miranda silly.

Miranda could still knock Jer-bum Taylor stupider, but he should fight at 168.

Pavlik is still a bum with a right hand. His bandwagon is going to crash with all hands killed when he fights someone decent.:kick:

Perhaps, but with boxing that falls into the "Too bad, So sad" category.. The better man won. Period.

still, i think it had more to do with Pavlik's ability to back Miranda up. Miranda is used to fighting at his own pace - throwing when he wants to and resting otherwise.

That's probably true, but Pavlik is so hugely overrated right now, it's ridiculous. Just look at the recent threads about him. How he's going to destroy Jer-bum Taylor or how he could give Joe Calslappy a beating, this guy got chin checked numerous times by Miranda. I just don't think his victory on Saturday means nearly as much as some of the huggers think.

I love how you twist anything you want to fit your arguement:lol:

He did get his chin checked by Miranda, a known puncher, and it checked out fine. He fought a great fight and put an ass whupin on a heavily overrated fighter. Now you call Pavlik overrated:laughing: . The world barely knows who Pavlik is. Just because some guys on a message board see some things out of him that they like and talk about it. Yeah. He is sooooo overrated:doh:

Nah...I think its simply a case of Pavlik being too much, too soon for Edison.

Miranda {overrated}

Zertuche {lost to Zuniga}

Its like trying to make shortbread out of rabbit shit. You just can't make it happen.

Miranda didn't look that bad to me, not weight drained. He just got hit hard and backed up repeatedly. Pavlik also landed a lot of bodyshots. The hard bodyshots, and pavlik's constant aggression and refusal to stop coming forward just took the fight out of miranda. He beat the fight out of miranda, but miranda still tried.

In round 1 it's true he looked a little listless, but in rounds 2 to 5 he DID have snap in his punches, you could see the power and hear the thuds.

Pavlik is just a better, tougher fighter.

Pavlik beat Zuniga as well. Although to be honest Zertuche was robbed against Zuniga.

BTW- How fucking hard is it to get credit in the sport of boxing? Pavlik brutally rapes the supposed next best thing for 7 rounds and some people still aren't satisfied.

I think Taylor fights a style that is just hard to beat, reminds me of Ruiz. He fights at 160, and seems to make weight pretty easy so a fight with Calzaghe seems pretty unlikely. But if he did, I think his straight punching(with power) would present many problems for Joe. :popcorn:

What about Calslappy or Taylor vs Pavlik? :dunno:
