Nick Diaz will have his first boxing match Friday

His first professional boxing match is scheduled for Friday night in Sacramento and I was interested on what people who have seen him fight in the UFC thought of him.

I don't watch much UFC, other than some random fights shown on free-tv....I did see the FSN replay of his knockout over Robbie Lawlor. Looked pretty good, and he seems to have a solid record at 10-3.

Any opinions?

He won. He looked a little sloppy, and a little heavy at 167 3/4 - though I'm not sure what he fought at in the UFC - but wasn't tested much, being his pro debut.

He was cut on his left eyelid during the first round - it was mentioned that it might have been an old cut - but it didn't bleed much the rest of the fight.

His footwork wasn't the greatest - think Daniel Ponce De Leon - and he bent as his waist a lot, taking away from his height advantage.

His opponent didn't throw much, so Diaz completely outworked him in every round. Landed some hard right hooks and straight lefts when he let his hands go.
