LOL yup.I think Cortez ia the same ref who allowed Ruiz to dry hump Holyfield when they had their rematch ( second fight), and gave Ruiz a long count to boot.

Cortez will ALLOW the wrestling, hitting and holding to go on.
Not good news for the Mayweather camp.

Floyd's straight out the hood, he surely has some 'mean' in him we ain't seen yet.

Hopefully Cortez is man enough to do his job and prevents Floyd from turning his ack and elbowing and thus ruining the fight

Corniest line ever!
I like it better than Kenny Bayless's "What I say, you must obey"
Anyway, I don't like the choice of Cortez, as he's shot as a referee. He's done some horrendous jobs in the last couple of years.

I wish a ref was around to keep PBF from clinching and arm locking DLH ...
Maybe he would have been forced to throw punches instead.

If Oscar would have used his jab rather than following Mayweather around like a dog following around anyone carrying food, the clinching wouldn't have mattered.
watch out, the spelling police is here!!!
as are the grammar police.

Joe is probably the worst choice of a referee here.
He just is not a great offical, IMO.
He reminds me of another guy, Tony Perez, whom I didn't think was much either.

I think he lets the fighters fight for the most part and doesn't get too involved like most of the jokes out there. My favourite ref though is Steve Smogger.

Well that's part of it Hanzy, he allows guys to hold and hit, and is very slow at separating them.
Smoger is Number One IMO as well, and no one else is even close.

Joe Cortez sometimes lets the fighters fight too much rather than do what he's supposed to, such as watching Paul Williams nearly kill Santos Pakau before finally stopping it (the same goes for Ike Quartey-Carlos Bojorquez).
Cortez seemed to let B-Hop's threats to pull out of the Robert Allen 3rd fight affect him as he was way too harsh on Allen. Cortez also was too harsh on J.L. Castillo in the fight with Ricky Hatton.
By this point, I'm surprised when Cortez doesn't do a poor job. He needs to retire as badly as Evander Holyfield does.
I agree that Steve Smoger is the best. I also like Kenny Bayless.
