Ugly, ugly fight in which Hatton gives a good, tough account for himself.......but ultimately gets outboxed and outlanded en route to a convincing decision loss.
And I will still hate Floyd's guts.

We can only hope.
Floyd TKO11
Hatton takes the fight to Floyd early and often, letting Floyd know that potshotting won't get the job done. Floyd adjusts, and picks Ricky apart through the second half of the fight, forcing a stoppage (most likely due to cuts or severe eye swelling) late in the fight.
Won't be Fight of the Year, but better than most (Floyd haters) suspect will be the case.

Floyd is finished! It was a good career but just like the great Roy Jones Jr, everything must come to an end.
I'm picking Floyd, but hoping Hatton and I'd love to see Hatton just kick his ass.
Not because I dislike Floyd (I like him), but because the people who see Hatton as having no chance are so obnoxious.

Mayweather UD.
After six, a minority will have it 3-3 but the majority will see it 4-2 in Floyd's favor.
After round 6, it'll be difficult to give Hatton credit for coming forward and getting potshotted. Hatton's aligator arms, no plan B and lack of one punch KO power will allow Floyd to remain in control during the latter rounds.
Floyd will stand in with Hatton in spots over the last six "however" there simply aren't enough opportunities for Hatton to land a fight changing shot.
Floyd UD in an 116-112 type fight.

Other than that I can so no way he can win (unless Floyd's stamina is unusually suspect through lack of proper training)

That's basically the way i see it with emphasis on Hatton not having a plan B. Once Mayweather gets into a groove and starts find a comfortable way to win rounds, i don't see Hatton being able to do much to change the pattern.

Refs can't resist scoring for blood and clean landed punches and that is why I can't see Hatton winning a decision.
Like I said before...he's a murderous bodypuncher and NO ONE is immune to body shots. However Floyd has shown against De La Hoya and against Castillo that he can take it to the mid section.
As for KOing Floyd to the head..not possible from Hatton.

People easily dismiss Hatton´s chances, but what do we really know about Floyd above 140? That he can get by boxers like Judah and DLH in less than impressive fashion. Hatton is better than both of them. I expect a close fight all the way and another controversy about the defintion of ring generalship. As usual HBO and the majority of fans will say Floyd retreated, ran and potshitted voluntarily, or in other words he masterfully outboxed Hatton. MD Mayweather 114-114, 116-112, 117-111 in a controversial decision.

Well i had my customary dream before the big fights...and in the dream...
Hatton was hurting Mayweather to the body with body shots..and landing some wicked overhand rights to the head...
I don't know what round it was...or WHO won the fight...but it felt to me in the dream that all this was happening in round 1 or 2 early...in the fight...
my heart pick is Hatton
my mind tells me Mayweather...

However, what I hope happens is Ricky smothers and mauls Floyd and beats his cocky ass up stopping him and making him cry like a bitch!

I wouldn't say Floyd is a nicer person. Both are human beings with faults and strengths in their personalities. Floyd's more adept at showing his faults, which makes his strengths less likely to see or believe.
Hatton just happens to be the opposite. It's hard for some being a prick due to how far out there Floyd is and the good natured guy he appears to be publically.
I understand your POV 100%. I don't believe Hatton is the nice guy he's made out to be.

Hatton is a two bit scumbag as far as I'm concerned. I've watched all of his fights for the past 6-7 years and in EVERY SINGLE FIGHT, I've wanted to see him lose. Imagine shamelessly avoiding your main national rival while fighting GARBAGE for 6 years. He is a complete pratt and a fucking joke. The cheekie chapie routine doesn't work on me. I hate the cunt and I want to see him sliced to pieces. I want to see the look in his face when he realises he is going to get a good pounding in the ring and he can't do anything about it. Don't be surprised to see his trainer "pull him out" when Hatton bottles it. He is a bully and has fought journeymen and over the hill fighters. Even Tszyu, he mauled Tszyu and got away with a lot of shit in that fight and he only fought Tszyu because he HAD TO STEP UP as he had exhausted the WBU trinket and was seen as a complete JOKE. Apart from that the odds have been heavily in his favour every time he has fought.
In closing, Ricky Hatton is the fighter I hate the most in the history of boxing and I will be having a wank looking at him getting beaten around the ring. avoiding witter for years the cowardly cunt

I'm just saying that I love black people and I invite them over to my house all the time to play wii or watch movies and stuff because they're great people. It's the gang types and Floyd types who I'd never invite over for tea and biscuits. You'd be wondering if they're gonna steal something so you have to be careful. But the black friends I have are great people. They speak great english too, much better than even myself.

Back to styles analysis:
Hatton's best bet is to smother Floyd against the ropes and stay WITHIN punching distance, similar to how Jesus Chavez fought Floyd years ago.
However
Floyd will catch Hatton coming in with lead left hooks and stright right hands...and even during the smothering on the ropes, hatton has the tendency to be open to a short left hook counter.
As such i believe that Floyd will open his face with pin point accurate counters and during the subsequent bleeding mess the ref would have no choice but to stop it.

I think the counter right uppercut will be also be a key punch for Mayweather.
Mayweather UD in a 8-4 type fight. Hatton has a better chance than a lot of people are saying and he'll be competitive, but I'm going with the "safe" pick of Floyd by decision.
Mayweather going broke in 10 years has nothing to do with being black. For Sly to even bring that up shows he has some serious issues with race.

The only question in my mind is not who will win the fight, but rather will Mayweather stop Hatton or let it go to the cards?
I cannot see a scenario (barring injury) where Hatton beats Mayweather. I just don't see him being able to exploit any advantages in the ring. I expect Hatton to flurry & hold often in the early rounds, having watched the DLH-PBF tapes and seeing that Mayweather will let you throw shoeshine combinations while the crowd reacts.
But once Hatton's workrate slows and the holding increases, I fully expect the Target Practice to commence. PBF will sharpshoot the oncoming Hatton for the rest of the fight until he either stops him or the bell ends the 12th.
I am amazed by how many people (mostly the casual fan and the mainstream media) are buying into the 24/7 - fed myth that Hatton is this murderous ball of power-punching fury. When? Hatton hasn't fought in that furious style since the days of beating up on the Pederen's and the Stewart's of the world.
As he has moved up in class (and weight), Hatton has become a selective pressure fighter with pretty good skills and a admirable will to win. But his furious style vanished long ago. He is nowhere near the classic pressure fighter that Cotto or Pacquiao is... the type of fighter who would MAKE someone like PBF fight on their terms like Castillo did in his first crack at Floyd. Instead, Hatton will start agressively and then fade away as the fight progresses (like the Urango and Collazo fights).
I am a believer that a lot of Hatton's strengths are often overlooked. I believe he has better handspeed than he is given credit for, as an example. But having said that, his shortcomings are far much more likely to show up on Saturday night: namely the fact that as his stamina wears, his workrate and he boxing skill erode. And when that happens, he is little more than a sitting duck for the most highly skilled fighter in the world.
Now, the only question is whether or not PBF will keep his foot on the gas and go for the KO. His performance against Baldomir is the most evidence to the fact that he will not (as depressing as that is). However, because there may be a shortage of MEGA fights to be made down the road, I suspect that Floyd may try to make his mark in this fight if given the opportunity.
That's why I'll say oficially, Mayweather by late stoppage (TKO 11).

It wasn't the reaction I was going for, but knowing how some people are on this board, it's the reaction I should've expected.
Whether it's a 'persona' or not, it seems Mayweather doesn't understand the value of a dollar, and doesn't seem to realize that his days of throwing money around and having bodyguards to carry his jewelry won't last forever.
Don't forget what family he comes from.

he will have netted 25-35million this year alone. he already has millions of dollars in assets. you have to be a complete imbecile to think he'll be broke in a decade.

Just a couple of quick questions. When cats predict that a fighter will be stopped by cuts or swelling how often has that shit ever happened. I am willing to bet that shit never happens. Man that shit never happens. Anyways my prediction is this. If PBF is allowed to wear the gloves that protects his hands then he will stop Hatton later in the fight. If he does not wear the pillows then I say an easy decision.
And just to address the PBF money situation. There is a possibility that he could go broke. Hell I hope the dude pays his taxes. But if he does lose all of his money then that's on him. Mike Tyson/PBF do not represent black athletes. That is an ignorant statement.
Another thing. How is it that PBF will sit around for hours and grant fans interviews and sign all autographs. Name other big name superstar fighters that do shit like that that are supposedly assholes. I'm in agreement that PBF does shit for show and for TV. He's an entertainer and does everything he can to entertain. Now am I tired of his bullshit and wish that he would show other sides to himself. But like I have stated numerous times. I'm a fan of what he does in the ring. The other shit I could care less. I'll Holla 5000

From what's offered (nobody outside of Floyd's immediate circle truly knows), most of those closest to him appear to be yes-men. Ellerbe's one of the few who has his best interests at heart, but with loyalty also comes knowing your role. I mean, if anyone gave a shit about him, they'd have told him to leave "Yep" in the studio.
For what it's worth though, it was Ellerbe's doing that got Floyd on Dancing With the Stars. According to a David Mayo article a month or so ago, Ellerbe said he was working on getting Floyd on the show for about a year before they finally agreed.
I'm pretty sure he's also with Ice Link and a energy drink company. It's a tough sell for most boxers. I mean, Oscar was part of the "Man Law" commercials for Miller Lite, but to my knowledge was the only one amongst the group who never uttered a word during any of the spots.

The closer this fight gets, the more convinced I am that Hatton's style is made to measure for this fight.
I expect PBF to try and pot shot early doors, allowing Hatton to chase him and wear himself down walking into elusive and hard counters before opening up late on as he looks for a stoppage.
Hatton, on the other hand, is going to have to EAT shots as he comes in, but his strength and his chin are definate plus points so he should be able to do so. Once he gets inside, he'll try to lean on, clinch and work PBF inside. He'll try to sap PBF's strength and build up a lead in the middle of the fight once he has dragged PBF into an inside brawl.
I would think that he also has an edge in power in this fight, too. those suggesting that he does not have quick hands and one punch KO power are wrong (Collazo was KD, Castillo was KO, Maussa was KO, Tsyzu quit etc)
If he's able to do this, he has every chance IMO.
I think Hatton envisages a 'Tszyu' type of fight, in which he'll come out for each round, take shots coming forward and then he'll go to work.
However, that plan worked at 140 and Hatton's only foray into 147 saw a winning, but poor performance v Collazo. He seemed to lose strength, stamina and some of his power, especially late on and he looked ready to go in the last round. No question in my mind about that.
If Hatton really has acclimatised to the weight this time (Billy Graham told Hatton not to take the Collazo fight, apparently, as it was too soon), then his gameplan might be enough. If not, he gets countered to death.
I'll go with my heart- Hatton UD

The closer the fight gets the more convinced I'm am that it is going to be a mismatch in Floyd's favour.
Hatton gets hit way too much and is open for all of FLoyd's best shots. I'm beginning to see Floyd winning this fight BIG: 8-0 (because he'll finish Ricky in the 9th)
The Sly One has Spoken!!

IF Floyd trained properly for this fight (assuming DWTS wasn't too much of a distraction) and comes in injury free, I see another virtuoso performance from Floyd...and this is the fight in which he'll win over alot of his haters and cement his superstar status!
I know it's irrelevant to your post/point, but that bolded part reminded me...
I find it funny that Hatton fans/supporters STILL bring up Dancing With the Stars, to the point where they pose hypotheticals at Floyd - "What IF you made it to the finals? How would you have prepared for both..?" Who cares, he went out TWO MONTHS AGO, was training before, and has been training ever since.
Oddly enough, I agree with the sentiment of your post, but disagree that it will actually happen. Those who hate Floyd will continue to hate Floyd. If the fight is 12-0, they'll either claim the judges missed the fight, or that Floyd was boring. If its 8-4 or closer, they'll claim Hatton was robbed. Floyd can knock him out, and they'll say something was off w/ Hatton, or that he was out of his element at 147, blah blah blah.
I think it will cement his claim atop the P4P throne (or reclaim it, for those who've felt compelled to drop him in the past year or so). But his critics will remain.
I think you're an idiot to think he COULDN'T be broke.
Scottie Pippen lost $20 million in one year in investments. This was while he was with the Trailblazers and made $18 million per year.
I honestly think you're fooling yourself if you think otherwise. Put it this way, if I'm a financial advisor and I see a guy walking around with $100,000 in cash on a daily basis AND he's wearing millions in jewelry...skimming money from him is easy.
Besides, where were these guys when James Prince punked him and got money off him?
If he's so smart, why was there a near $500,000 tax lien against his Baldomir purse?
Guys who are wise with money don't have tax issues. The ones who do obviously have their faith placed in the wrong spot.

Was that really him? I remember ArturoGatti making a thread a year or 2 back asking if it was really DLH but nobody knew for sure.
I know, it's hard to tell without the fuck-me-pumps and blow-job-red lipstick, but yes, it was her.

Just a couple of quick questions. When cats predict that a fighter will be stopped by cuts or swelling how often has that shit ever happened. I am willing to bet that shit never happens. Man that shit never happens.
It happens sometimes.
Lewis-Klitschko, Mosley-Vargas I, De La Hoya-Chavez (both fights, one stoppage due to cuts, one quittage due to cuts), Manfredy-Gatti, De La Hoya-Rivera.
However, that brings up something I'd like to ask. How many guys have cut Hatton with clean punches (rather than clash of heads/head butts). That's something I don't know and would like to.

Hey Illu!
I've said all along that Floyd will tie Hatton up on the inside and then potshot his way to a unanimous (if boring/frustrating) decision.
Add me to your summaries, fella!
hatton's the one who's going to be looking to tie up. it's a crazy myth that he's some great inside fighter. i've never seen him fight inside once. like mosley, he looks to rip combinations from mid-distance and then grab hold of you like a broad. and that's what he'll do. it's how PBF responds to this illegal tactic that will determine the outcome of the fight. if PBF's fast feet, amazing reflexes and hand-speed mean that Hatton finds himself hugging air time after time, then PBF will easily win a decision.
now, if Hatton bites the bullet (and usually he doesn't), and genuinely mauls PBF (not the hit and hold routine he's fooled a lot of people with), his strength and ferocity could be a factor.
but honestly. Hatton's style isn't unlike Ruiz. he's got more talent, better technique and is faster, but basically he's looking to hit you and then hold you so you can't hit him back. he has very little tolerance for exchanges, and his instincts are to immediately grab you if one breaks out.
this is what makes him such a unappealing fighter. it's like he can't live in the ring. he has to be either hitting his oppoinent or controlling him by tieing him up.
PBF knows how to live in there. if the rules are enforced, he will win easily.
Hatton is much more likable, but from a boxing stand-point Hatton is dog-shit. and he's gonna learn a lesson on saturday.

Floyd wins a UD by the scores of 118-110, 117-111 and 116-112. he easily outboxes sloppy Hatton and catches him on the way inside for an easy decision. Hurting hatton a couple timkes along the way.

I think Ricky's pressure impresses the judges who are already mindful of the 'safety-first' style of Mayweather.
Sure it will controversial. Sure folks will say Hatton didn't land much. But in the end Hatton will get credit for Mayweather not fighting against Baldomir and De La Hoya.
However, in all my genius, I haven't called a big fight correctly since Leonard beat Hearns in 81.

Do you watch the Wire, I came across the entire series 1 for sale in Ireland, $50 the lot. Should I pick it up?? I've seen a few episodes, I think it is pretty gritty and good.
it is. it's damn good. definitely worth the 50 imo. good plot, good scripts, good acting, very believable.....i highly recommend it.

i can't believe Neil is picking Hatton. gotta give him credit for not letting his emotions (in this case, his desire to suck PBF's cock) from interferring with his objectivity.

Yup. I might just go ahead and get it, one way or the other. Cheers. BTW did you spot the eery resemblance btw the poor guy who sold/sells the "whites" {the white tees in the shopping basket} and that guy "Bling-Bling"???

Its on sale for 35 euro in HMV Grafton st., or just rent it from Lazer on George's st. and rip the lot....great stuff
I'm hoping Hatton UD, I'm thinking Mayweather UD
Thats where I saw it. Damn.......its a small world.
I was in there the other day having a crack of the Hurling Game.  Then I went over to the Xbox and pushed some kid off it and had a game of Assassins Creed. Then I ogled the blonde in behind the counter on the basement floor. Ah yes. Dublin..............

:stir: will...
Mayweather wins an easy UD...
Mayweather be winning the fight easy..but get hit with a hard body shots and get stop/or run the rest of the fight...
Hatton win a decision just by throwing alot more punches..evne if they don't land.
Mayweather come out blazing and stop Hatton in 4-5 brutal round..
Mayweather outbox/outland Hatton for a bunch of round turning him into a bloody mess...
Will Mayweather be able to handle all the punches Hatton will be throwing at him....
Will Mayweather's speed and accuracy be toooo much for Hatton...
