According to Mike Marley.
"The documentary looks at Louis’ life inside and outside the ring. It will also detail the impact Louis had socially on an America that was racially segregated."
"The 90-minute documentary will debut at 8 pm, ET, 9 pm PT, so that East Coast viewers will see the Louis program before the fight and those on the West Coast will view it after the bout."

"A second one-off doc, Joe Louis: America's Hero… Betrayed (1x75'), is a biography of the champion heavyweight boxer, from his birth to ex-slaves to becoming a great iconographic hero during the Depression to his active service during the Second World War.
The film features interviews with subjects including former US president Jimmy Carter, poet Maya Angelou and actor Jerry Lewis. Joe Louis is exec-produced by Ross Greenberg and Rick Bernstein."

Do you think he could beat Valero? He might have even beaten a prime Karl. He would have steam-rolled Valero inside 50 seconds.

Ironic that such a subject will air prior to a fight between two white heavyweights.

I know you were.
Maskaev's re-located to Sacramento...maybe his title defense will, as well.
Is Ibragimov a U.S. citizen?

He was the Greatest Fighter Ever, IMO.He's up there, certainly in terms of accomplishments and offensive abilities. No doubt.
But he was too slow of foot and mediocre of chin to be considered the Greatest IMHO.
However, his is probably the most asthetically pleasing style of fighting ever...and dominating boxings top division for 12 years is something special.

No clue, never had any interest in Ibragimov to care what he claims to represent.
The only reason I remember it about Maskaev was that he took offense to the way his fight w/ Rahman was promoted, that Rock was supposed to be the last line of defense for the US ( ) when in fact it was two American citizens fighting for the title (his words, or to that effect)

If a cat were born in the oven, it'd be lunch, and served in 10 minute.
agREED on your point... how many different heritages do you claim again?

I figured that's what you were implying, but Maskaev doesn't have much relation to the HBO card that the doc will be leading to...so I figured I'd see if the same was true of Ibragimuffin.
BTW, I'm surprised noobody has commented on the title yet: "Joe Louis: America's Hero… Betrayed"
