I bet it's a cyst right there. It'll probably burst every time you shit for a week or so with the blood being less and less each time. You should be able to treat that at home as long as it DOESN'T get INFECTED. Cyst meds are for external use only and with the area it's in you CAN use hemorroid medication to help with inflammation and it's safe for the area. That's what I would suggest. Put a tube of Preparation H (or whatever they have in Ireland)in your shower along with a second wash cloth. After you have a shit, get right into the shower and clean the area and use some of the ointment/cream with the second wash cloth. Believe me, you DO NOT want that getting infected. :nono:

Sounds like a fissure (had a rough BM with a razor-like pain, no severe pain problems after but bleeds bright now) but that's not a guaranteed diagnosis. You can have other stuff that set it up in the first place.

The other major thing with painless bleeding (I'm guessing it's painless because you said you were SHOCKED to see blood) is diverticulosis; it's different from diverticulitis because the "itis" part indicates infection and/or inflammation, and that's usually painful, with diarrhea or change in stool. Diverticulosis is still very serious but people sometimes think it'll pass on it's own and develop an anemia on top of things.

Then there's the dreaded cancer thoughts...don't mess around, just talk with your doctor about a colonoscopy and I doubt there's any sense in waiting. If it's totally clean, or there are small polyps, you won't need another one untill another 10 years.

But hey, don't trust a psychiatrist on this; see your regular medical doctor who may also recommend a specialist.

Here's the thing. Chances are it's just an external cyst/tear near there that is the source of the problem. You SHOULD be able to see that with a mirror. And once that's confirmed, why risk an embarrassing, time consuming, and possible expensive trip to the doctor when you can treat it at home? If blood was coming from your ears, the first fuckng thing you would do is ask someone what the fuck is on or in your ear that is bleeding. You're not going to do that in this case so you have to see for yourself. You can't run to the doctor's office for every little thing. :nono:

I showed the blood stained toilet roll to a college who at first was apprehensive but then assured me it was normal. However, today it happened again. went to the doc and explained the situation. he asked me to bend over and inspected my ass. He told me that he saw no obvious problems there and it was probably a hemorroid. he gave me some movicol and told me to take two a day and eat only some "ruffage" instead of garbage. He also said he wanted some moisture in the form of oils, so I will look into that. All in all I'm happy enough but I don't know about taking this movicol because I have a heart murmur and it is touch and go. I'll decide after my shit later on. I'll consult a doctor tomorrow and see whether or not it's safe to go on these. I presume it is, because he gave me them but just in case.

He said he would be shocked if it was cancer though, which was good to hear.

Cost me a few quid, but it was worth it in the end. I'll update after tonights shit!
