Yes, there is. Of course.

Doyle was, IMHO, a selfish greedy ill disciplined no talent loser. There were plenty of Irish men, boxers, like McClarnin, Rinty Monaghan, who were far better behaved and had far more respect towards themselves and others. Doyle was a dangerous spoiled Psychopath, a typical "Right Man" as psychologists would say.

Even by todays standards, Doyle would stand out for his depravity and viciousness. The Irish like to get high and fall over, but Irish men who get Syph, kill children and beat women all at the same time are pretty fucking rare.
