A heavyweight unification is on the way. Another fight i want to see is Pac-Marquez 2 which is already signed and sealed.

My pick is Cotto-Mayweather

i dont really care for mayweather vs. anyone to be honest.

i'd rather see cotto-margarito or cotto-williams instead.

Those fights almost surely would be more entertaining. However the way i look at it Mayweather and Cotto are #1 and #2 at welter. I'd like to see them have a showdown. Not as crowd friendly, but the style contrast is interesting.

Well, Mayweather-Cotto is the most obvious one so I'll avoid that and say Hatton-Witter.

Two other fights I'd make: Kessler-Bute and Dzinziruk-Forrest.

One rematch I'd make: Williams-Margarito II.

And the one fight I wouldn't make: Klitschko-Povetkin.

Margarito - Mayweather, would be nice. Unless Margarito is the same as Hatton, he's already the same as Baldomir.

klitschko and peter could very well be 1 and 2 at heavy. i do not care to see them fight again.

plus, i dont rule out the possibility of margarito or williams beating cotto.

Why?

Because he's only had 15 pro fights and because despite their ages (only about 3 years apart), there's a vast experience different.

It should be remember that Klitschko turned pro after winning gold in the '96 Olympics and Povetkin didn't do it until after the '04 Olympics.

I think it's the best fight in the division for years to come...but it's not ready yet.

It would have DRAMA like Floyd-Hatton but w/MORE Exchanges...Cotto WOULDN'T Allow Floyd to STINK the Joint Out...

failing that, Mayweather-Williams

PBF/Williams in on the under-card. So it's not the main event.

If Williams wins, and Cotto beats Margarito, then Williams is next in line. However, if Margarito wins, then Williams becomes the recognized champion with Margarito #2. Then they'd have a rematch and we'd finally get to see who the best welter-weight in the world is. Can you imagine that?

Anyways, Floyd-Cotto by far.

Both unbeaten, the contrasts of styles and arguably the 2 best fighters in the world (Floyd the clear #1 and Cotto a top 5 Lock IMO)

You are too funny dude. Floyd won't be fighting on any undercards especially with Cotto as the main event. Floyd is THE champ. Cotto would be on Floyd's undercard.

Cotto vs. Mayweather is the REAL MAIN EVENT....

but just for shits and giggles..why is MARGARITO the champion fighting in the main event...if he got beat by PAUL WILLIAMS...? :dunno:

shouldn't it be COTTO vs. WILLIAMS? main event....

no jew...we need to send you to concentration camp....:nono: Mayweather isn't ready for COTTO...the last few fights Cotto has been getting ready for the showdown against Mayweather.....

fighting Judah and Mosley..to fast..somewhat accurate guys...

Hatton wasn't ready for Mayweather..he never fought anyone as fast..not even close.....and the most accurate guys he fought were Tszyu and Collazo...two fight where he struggle.....and probably lose of of 'em....:nono:

Either would do me just fine...

Pavlik vs Abraham.

Calzaghe vs Roy I'm pretty certain Calzaghe wins, but I'd still like to see it.

Kessler vs Tarver/Dawson/Johnson/Hopkins To see how good he really is.

In terms of action I'd love to see Diaz-Katsidis, and Cotto-Margarita. And the great thing is both those matchups are likely to happen sometime this year.

I'd also love to see Calz-Pavlik like many others.

But obviously, the BIGGEST fight to be made in the sport right now is w/o question Mayweather-Cotto.

I like Cotto, hes one of my favorites but in those gaps when he is loading up to throw Mayweather will murder him and control him. Cotto needs faster footwork, it has nothing to do with handspeed.

I see Cotto's speed and skill are still underrated.

Pavlik will expose that smurf before the year is out. His hit list is Taylor, Duddy, then Abraham. They'll all get it in 08.

It's not an issue of speed or skill. Cotto is probably almost as fast as Mayweather and the things he does well he is as skilled. The problem is that when Cotto sets up he steps in from a distance and telegraphs. At this distance Mayweather will counter him all night.

Cotto would need to close that gap a lot quicker. Cotto is a methodical plodder like Louis.... a lot of the great punchers were/are. He takes his time and cuts the ring down slowly. He is incredibly gifted at doing this and smart enough not to chase the opponent but to walk him down. But Mayweather sets up for the counter in this space and Miguel does not have the defensive capability to deal with Mayweather's straight counter punching. Mayweather will find him between the gloves all night... I think Mayweather might KO him actually.

Miguel may get a few chances to rush in like Hatton did, bit Hatton is miuch faster with his feet in closing this gap and about as strong as Cotto. Cotto is a much better puncher than Hatton but he needs faster feet to get near Mayweather. I don't see it happening.
