The fight is now just a little over two weeks away, time to prepare. All aboard "The Ghost" bandwagon! I cant wait! Pavlik is gonna end Taylor's career and I'll enjoy every minute! I was reading Taylor's live ESPN chat and this payaso really is an unlikable, boring, no personality having sonuvabitch! Taylor makes Vernon Forrest look charasmatic. He even admitted that he doesnt love, or care for boxing and just doesnt it as a business! I cant stand fighters like that! Hopefully after this KO loss, Taylor packs it up and leaves the sport he doesnt care about. Pavlik KO 4 is my official pick this time!

Who else is riding "The Ghost" train?

I want Pavlik to win, but jhow is Taylor unlikeable? He is a good person, just like Vernon Forrest.

And how can you call Taylor unlikeable, yet Floyd Mayweather is like your favourite fighter?

I never said he was a bad person, just a boring one. And the fact that he freely admits he dislikes the sport is a turn off, and makes him unlikable to ME.

And I never said I was a fan of Floyd as a person. I just admire his brilliance as a fighter.

BTW- Floyd is my SECOND favorite fighter!:nono: As long as Roy is still active, he remains my 1st!

At least Taylor and Forrest don't try to come accross as "flashy" and cool, like a stupid 5th grader that just moved to a new school.

It all has to do with personal preference. Floyd might be an ass, but his cocky attitude is backed-up 9 times outta 10 with his performance in the ring. He's a virtuoso, whilst Taylor is sloppy and amateurish and struggled with fighters he shoulda destroyed.

Yes indeed War Pavlik!

I fail to see what Taylor's gonna do in the rematch that can change the outcome. Pavlik took his best stuff in the first fight and survived. Taylor's not gonna turn into a better finisher over night. And Taylor's jab was neutralized in the first fight with Pavlik's OWN jab. If Kelly uses his jab again, Taylor's jab will once again fall apart. I wouldnt be surprised if we see Taylor go into survival mode after a few rounds. Thats the only way he's gonna last the distance. If he fights, he gets KO'd again. I think Jermain has balls, so I think he's gonna fight Pavlik again... and get KO'd.... again.

Yeah, shit like that pisses me off too. Obviously every fighter is in it for the money. But no fighter that thinks of it as only a business and nothing more will ever achieve greatness.

There has to be that extra desire to want to be the best.

I'm on.

Interesting because Miguel Cotto comes off the same way, but he gets the job done in the ring, usually in impressive fashion.

I still think there is a possibility that Taylor can stink out the joint en route to an ugly decision win. But the more likely outcome is Taylor either getting stopped again, or losing a wide UD by coming to survive.

Let me say that I love Kelley Pavlik. Love his style and his personality....but he is seriously flawed, and Taylor had him on the brink of being KO'd last time.

This fight scares me....because Taylor DOES have mad ability. If he taps into it, trains hard and gets focused....it could be deadly to a guy like Pavlik.

Taylor is very strong and might be able to save face and make it go the distance. He can do this is he shows Pavlik that he can still be a threat, thus making Pavlik more measured in the later rounds (if the fight goes into any later rounds). I could actually see this happening. No way he beats Pavlik though.

Taylor is honest enough to admit he looks upon it as a business, but look at the end result of whom he fights.

It's not like he just sits on his HBO contract and always takes soft touches.

He fought Hopkins again immediately after the first fight, then fought Winky Wright. After a couple of easier touches, he fought Kelly Pavlik.

And after being brutally KO'd by Kelly, he's getting in there with him once again.

He may be sloppy and rather ugly to watch due to his technique, but he fights whom the fans want him to.

You know what fucks me right off about you Reed? Its that you pose and posture as a true fight fan but the truth of the matter is that you are as blinkered and as selective in your choosing of fighters as I am, but you'll never admit so. You sound like those turds off boxing-4-real. Your flippant petulant dismissal of Abraham is unbecoming of a guy who likes to present himself as a perfectly objective and unaffiliated fan of boxing. So what if he got his jaw bust. He took on and beat Miranda when Pavlikker was scratching a living on an Iowa corn farm putting on shows against Mexican labourers in his Uncles corn silo. The fuck is the matter with you? Is it some sort of a hangover from the Michalczweski days?? Or are you, for all your protestations and objections, just as much of a Home Boys Only member as you pretend not to be?? How ironic that your teenaged-UFC-esque dismisal of a damaged fighter is shockingly congruous with the bleating self-righteousness of Kelly Pavliks new paymasters, HBO, an organisation you can hardly be said to have any great affection for. Or have you let bygones be bygones and allowed yourself to see things from HBO's POV, now that Roy is as good as retired?? I'll say this much, the last time Muhammad Ali got his jaw that badly busted he LOST.

I agree. But don't give him "too" much credit. I'm sure that his decision is mostly a due to the fact that he's an HBO fighter, leaving him no choice if he wants to keep his contract.

It's the same reason Mosley rematched Forrest immediately, and why Forrest rematched Mayorga. If they didn't, then they couldn't keep their contract. So they figured, well, it's at least worth a try to, "salvage my contract." And I'm certain that is what Taylor is thinking.

I'm on...

I actually like Taylor, and it is to his credit that he is immediately re-matching with the guy who KHTFO (HBO contract or no), but he is just not good enough to beat Kelly, who simply hits too hard and straight for Taylor to do much about it. And I don't buy this 'he hurt Pavlik last time' crap- Pavlik got cocky and dropped his hands and practically stuck his chin out to give Taylor a free shot. Anyone seriously think he'll be doing that again?? :nono:

Plus, it is ALWAYS harder to beat a guy who has KO'd you before- more often the not, the result is repeated only in shorter order.

I'd expect Pavlik to win inside of 6 this time...

Hey- I don't dislike you man. :dunno: You seem to be a smart and funny guy and I also have it on good, respectable authority that you help a bunch of guys out with technical stuff that is way beyond my alleged areas of expertise

...However, you do also hate on almost every single European fighter I care to name, so I like to take you to task from time to time. :tease:

And yes, I'm English...

Lok just calls em as he sees them.... a bunch of German Robots. I mean these Euro guys are so effeminate. Lewis was one of my favorites, but the heavy weight champ of the world should not sound like a cupcake! And play Chess? What the Fuck! When Mitch Green goes shopping he gets a black eye, when Lennox Lewis goes shopping he gets a shirt, whats up woth that?

Now listen MTF: We need a heavyweight champ like Tyson... somoene who gets into bar scraps, does time and like Rahman or Mccall, who can go insane in the membrane at the slightest provocation... not somoene who respects their mother and has a PHD! A fifth grade education should be enough!

Dr Hammer? What a German Robot!!
