Asikainen stops Campas

Former EBU middle champ Amin Asikainen stopped Mexican veteran and former IBF jr middle ruler Yori Boy Campas at 0.56 of the seventh of a hardf ught scheduled non-title ten rounder that headlined P 3 Boxing´s show at a sold out Kiisa Hall.

To be honest, I wasn't completely convinced after Asikainen's performance that he is the best middleweight in the world. He opened up very well and took the first round easily, outboxing Campas. I had Asikainen winning also the second but Campas began to find his distance and land some body shots. Campas IMO took rounds three and four clearly, also buckling Asikainen's knees once. Fifth round was very close one but the fight was still going on Campas' terms. Sixth round was quiet as Campas seemed to take a breather and Asikainen won it by landing a bit more. Early in the seventh Campas walked into a big right cross by Asikainen (his pet punch) and wobbled to ropes. Asikainen went for the kill and Campas was defenseless, which lead to the stoppage. Campas protested a little, but to me it seemed like a good TKO

All in all, Campas was able to get to close quarters a bit too easily against the bigger Finn and inside he outfought Asikainen, but Asikainen does have some serious power in that right cross

As I said, not quite, but Asikainen did prove he is the best puncher of the division

If he was the best puncher of the division he should have KO'ed Sylvester in the rematch. He landed plenty and Sylvester's chin isn't exactly sturdy.

Remember he knocked Sylvester down in the first round with a single shot. After that he didn't land that much cleanly, he underrated Sylvester

I thought he landed plenty, he stunned Sylvester other times. Regardless, if you can punch, Sylvester sleeps. There are other guys at 160 who I would expect to KO Sylvester.
