Hopefully it's not his very next fight where he wants to fight a softie.
Malignaggi would be a decent start to a three fight run.

I tend to agree actually, HBO rock at creating good matchups.
They even forced the space monkey to meet his doom in Barrera :cheer:
What would the other 2 good matchups be in your opinion?

Only including 140 pounders..at 147 Hatton will get destroyed by any of the top 5 fighters there...
1st fight MALIGNAGGI(Hatton takes Malignaggi strap)
2nd fight WITTER(by then hopefully Witter has fought/defeated TORRES, take his strap)
3rd Juan Diaz (the best 140 and 135 pounders in the WORLD fight.....OR a fight against MANNY PACQUIAO if Pac gets by Marquez...

god has nobody been paying attention? Hatton is one of the boringest fighters ever to be called a p4p entrant, perhaps in the history of the sport.
i almost hope they match him soft so he can actually "fight" instead of just hug and grab.

hug and grab his way to a KO victory over Jose Luis Castillo with a LEFT HOOK to the body....

whatever. you'll never hear Castillo make excuses, but Hatton cheats his way to victory after victory, with no real craft. and it was great to see him face plant the canvas from one of his ill-conceived and poorly schooled lunging left jabs that only a hack would try against someone like PBF.

Is Hatton an idiot? Does he not know he can sign a deal with Showtime, and fight bums and no-hopers, like Kostya did for years?

Even Showtime lost interest in Hatton, eventually.
Their interest did renew with the Tsyzu fight, however.

Agreed. I really enjoyed watching Hatton pre-Tszyu. He was hardly ever in a bad fight. But since the Ray Oliveira fight, it's been a different story. Don't know what happened, but I don't care if I ever see him fight again. I cringe at the thought of Hatton-Malignaggi. Horrible, horrible style match up with clinch fest written all over it.
I'd like to see Pacman and Hatton..
I'd actually pick Hatton to win but I'd be rooting for Pac

Your two sentences are contradictory.
Make love to my buttocks, Kostya.

Even though I give Hatton shit he deserves these last couple of paydays. He's paid his dues. I mean he's atleast brought his craft to the US and has put in some good work. I just hope that he goes out with a bang and not a head bang into the turn buckle either. I'll Holla 5000

It's simple. He beat Tsyzu in the only possible way he thought he could- by holding, hooking, leaning, bullying etc. Having done it once in the fight that really made him, he stuck with it faithfully until he tried it against the one guy with the tools to make him look clumsy and dumb...
As I said somewhere else, it would be nice to think that Hatton might take the Floyd beating as clear evidence that the 'grappling style' has been sussed. Certainly I think Witter, who fights a very similar style to Floyd (though is clearly inferior as a fighter), might be able to counter Hatton to death if he tries to dry hump Junior all night. That would be a VERY bad tactic for Ricky to try if he fights Witter IMO.

Word.
It's not like he had to come to the States- he has a huge fanbase in the UK and could of made a fat lot of money banging out bums in the MEN arena for three-four years before calling it quits to count his wedge.
At least he had the BALLS to cross the pond and have a crack, and has been largely successful in doing so (in the ring and in monetary terms). It took the best in the world to beat him in the end, so fair play to him- he's earned his addition to the retirement fund IMO.
Hatton thought he was the man, came across the pond talking all kinds of shit and then promptly got STARCHED! what a bitch

Your two sentences are contradictory. Not really, by softie he means an easy or at least sure fire guaranteed victory and that is what Paulie represents.
On top of that Paul will stand around--or more like run around--and take his beating for 10 or 12 rds without wilting because he's a tough stubborn bastard who seems oblivous to how much he truly does suck.
I hope in his 3 fight deal we see him get LAID the F out!

He only lost to Cotto in a tough fight. Cotto is light years ahead of Hatton in every way possible.
I think Paulie outboxes Hatton really. Is Hatton still reagarded as the best at 140 based on his win over Tszyu once upon a time?
because he hasn't beaten the best at 140 for the past year. His attempts at 147 have been both failures.
I can understand him coming down to 140 makes him the best by default. But to me he has to prove it.
I would pick both Witter and Paulie to beat him. but I guess if neither guy brings any money they are not worthy o fighting him  so in the mean time he can enhance his legacy with Lazcano. :dunno:
if I was hatton's manager I'd have him stay in europe and fight some german dishwashers and bus drivers, let him KO them and get his confidence back..
THEN come over here and get KTFO at Madison Sq Garden by Cotto:bears:

Did you see his last fight? He comes across as this defensive boxer but in reality he's just a boxer in over his head. He doesn't have top ten talent to get out of the way of B-level fighter's punches no matter how good he THINKS he is. Fact is any top ten fighter would absolutely dominate on the contender series to the point that it wouldn't even be close. Paulie didn't do that. He's just a lucky guy to even have that belt around his waist. The dude is utter doo doo (:shit:) and Hatton would easily beat him with nothing more than effective pressuring just like Cotto did.

Did you see his fight with N'dou? you know the one in which he won the tittle? it was as shut out. I remember Cotto struggling more with N'dou
and what the hell does the contender series have to do with Paulie? :dunno:

Hatton and Witter would both beat Paulie, IMO.
Paulie just doesn't hit hard enough (unlike guys at 147) to stop Hatton coming forward towards him and dry humping him to death.
I agree that he has to prove himself again, especially after he lost so decisively last time out. But he would have to be in decline at this stage to lose to Paulie IMO. Witter, on the other hand, is about 60/40 in Ricky's favour right now, and the longer he waits, the more Junior's chances increase.
