I found this really interesting....fantastic to get some context and some reliable info sans than the usual ridiculous pissing contests that emerge when you pose the question on an internet board. As it happens this definitely makes my mind up to get on a strength training program in the near future - after not lifting for ages, I'm at the upper end of novice for everything, ATM! Oh well, at least I'm balanced and have huge potential for rapid improvement!

Just bugging ya, Hutster!
I know I can press at least 275, so I'm elite in that one.
I can squat 425 for 6, so I probably nail that one too. I can definitely bench at least 300, so that's also mine. I might just have to nail them all.

Feat.
I was pressing 225 for 14 not too long ago. I was a hair from nailing 15 reps, but it gets hard on the lungs when you do that many reps. Later this year I'll be getting a one-arm chinup, so you know I take my training seriously!

How much do you weigh Buddy? According to the chart 275 and above is competitive power lifter strength for individuals weighing well over 250lb.

hmm....funny how everyone on the internet is always elite yet nobody in a gym ever is. Seems like both of you should go into professional powerlifting.

212lbs. :dunno:
Lok and I are probably going to post videos for some of the lifts, or at least I know that I probably will. Of course, I won't be doing much of that for the next few weeks. Baby first!

I've always been pretty strong, there are some guys that were on the powerlifting team at the gym I worked at that were REALLY strong though..
