even mentions the best heavyweight on the planet right now.
I understand the heavyweight division is rather weak at the moment. But this just leaves it wide open for a new young talent to make a name for himself by cleaning it up.
A lot of threads about Calzaghe and Hopkins, Cotto and Margarito but nothing about the new star in the heavyweight division.
What is the matter with you guys? Do you even watch heavyweight boxing anymore or are you just into the little guys?
I want to know why no one mentions David Haye. This guy is on the verge of steam rolling through the heavyweight divison and not a peep has been heard about it here.
I OBJECT!

I like Haye, and with the state of the division I think he might fair pretty well at HW. Peter is somewhat exciting, but as far as the rest you can keep em.

There have been threads on Haye here esk. And I am hopeful for him as well as you are.
But I think we are jumping the gun a bit here. Wait and see how Haye handles a legitimate, experienced big heavyweight and let us go from there.
He has the tools....but he is still a major question mark for the heavyweight divisiion. I mean hell...look at JC Gomez, and he was a more dominant Cruiserwegiht than Haye has been.

Peter is the one guy I think Haye should stay away from for the moment at least.
Haye will get his china chin cracked at HW. Sure he can punch and he's young and exciting to watch, but his chin is supect for sure. You have to be able to take a punch to have success at HW. Everyone is big and they all hit hard.

Yeah, I hope he takes a couple of lower level guys on at first. Give him some time to get used to the weight.

I agree. You have to have a solid chin like Lennox Lewis or Wlad Klitschko to be successful at heavyweight.

Well,...he was verry dominant at Cruiserweight, but that didn't translate to success at the heavyweight division...for whatever reason.
I agree with you...Haye has the tools to hit the subpar heavyweight division like a lightening bolt.
But his chin is questionable....and his awesome power might not be the force at heavyweight that it is at Cruiserweight.
Just saying that it is too early to call the guy a sure hit at heavyweight, regardless of the shitty state of the division.
Either way, he'll be exciting to watch.
Exactly. I'll watch him fight no doubt. I sure hope he isn't serious about getting in the ring with Wlad any time soon though. He should definitely take on a B level guy before jumping into the deep end.

I forgot when LL or Wlad got KO'd by Carl Thompson.
Wlad and LL got KO'd by big punchers, not Carl Thompson.

So far in the heavyweight division, no. Beating Tomas Bonin does not quite do it.
He is clearly the best cruiser right now and very fun to watch, but that is whole different thing

He would clearly be the best Cruiser if he had beat Steve Cunningham before leaving the division.
I hope Haye dominates all!! he looks like he might be able to.. but we'll see..

I saw something about that guy. The new Tua? Let's hope not. The guy looks huge though.
haye is a decent cruiser but I doubt that soft beard of his could have withstood hard hittin henrys assault had they met at the 200lb limit.

Make no mistake about it- Enzo Calzaghe is a BUM.
Honestly, if you'd given Joe a proper trainer, he'd be miles better than he is now. And no mistake.
Make no bones about it. I am a HUGE Haye fan. Bonin lasted 2.30 mins. Once I see Haye ready for HW action, I'll be starting the official 'Fightbeat' Bandwagon. Those who miss out, frankly, miss out BIG time...

The most overhyped unproven fighters need to be knocked out I'm afraid, Miranda was one, Andy Lee was another,... and now we have David Haye, the apparent undisputed heavyweight champion in advance,.. I remember the brits busting a nut when he first turned pro, "nobody stands a chance!", "this guy is so so awesome!", and along comes little Carl Thompson. Be ready for some De Ja Vu if he steps it up at heavyweight.

That has nothing got to do with the state of this forum, the HW's are a complete joke, the majority are fat messes that don't even train, did you watch Wlad's last fight?
Watching paint dry is more exciting.
As for Haye he is good and I look forward to see how he does at HW. You say he's on the verge of steam rolling the division he could also be on the verge of getting KO big style.
What happened to Enzo could easily have happened to Haye. He is exciting but open to be caught out at HW.

David Haye has actually been crowned a champ. Comparing him to the likes of Miranda and especially Lee just doesn't fit.

It does actually cs um, Miranda knocked out a scrub or two, and the messageboard claimed if Kessler or any other top gun at supermiddleweight wants to prove themselves as the best, they gotta go through him. Too much reward brewed on sensationalism (usually from the sight of handspeed, power, or both), David Haye's been knighted the same, more or less,.. "He will DESTROY the entire heavyweight division" ....because he put down Macancrelilliluo(sp?)... there's nothing else that needs to be said about that really :nono: .

The point is that Haye is a much better fighter than Miranda and some Irish bum. Comparing them is like comparing ODLH to JCC Jr. because they are both mexican.

Im talking about undeserved sensationalism, he may be better than Miranda and Andy Lee,.. but on what evidence does he annihilate the heavyweight division??.. Against a certain kind of soft opponent, anyone can look like a monster, especially an opponent at cruiserweight, Haye strikes me as a "bully" fighter, survive the early storm, and you've got him, against fully fledged heavyweight there will be plenty of fighters who'll be surviving early.

Actually, he's an excellent cruiser-weight, but you are right. There is no guarantee that he succeeds at HW.
Much of the 'hype' (if you can really call it that) probably stems from the hope, more than anything else, that he can liven up the undoubted worst division in boxing and possibly the worst set of HW's in history. In any decent time for the supposed 'glamour division', nobody would be talking about him other than noting that the best CW in the world has chosen to follow Holy and fight at HW.
If nothing else, and even if he gets ICED, at least he'll go down punching. You're unlikely to see any of this 'power parrying' of jabs or 'three right hands thrown in 12 rounds'...:shit:

Yes fine, he is a legit cruiserweight champ, but less we forget that O'neil Bell knocked Mormeck out too, and was apparently hard done by in the rematch, so that doesn't seem to be much of a reference for annointing Haye the undisputed heavyweight champion in advance either.
