Haye has apparently signed for Golden Boy and will take on Rahmen in his first HW fight.

Is he taking on beef or pork Rahmen in his first heavyweight bout?
Personally I thought he'd take on a more sophisticated opponent, like a huge platter of Sashimi.

Rahman? The guy should be fighting Tye Fields if he wants to prepare for Wlad.

Exactly - some much needed excitement for the division.

Haye is exactly the sort of personality the division needs.
Whether his chin will be up to the task is the biggest question which requires answering...

I dont think it is - but he can bang and if he bangs first its lights out for the majority of guys.
The Haye press conference is on now live - 2 fights against top 10 HW then a shot at the title.
It's an exclusive deal with setanta and the o2
Haye is telling it like it is live on TV.....

rahman sucks. it wouldnt make any difference if haye fought zuri lawrence, al cole, or some other washed up heavy or blown-up cruiser that rahman struggled w/
Rachman is a bum.
well... I don't know about "BUM"
he has been a contender and even KO'd the gay.. I mean Great Lennox
HE is also a big strong guy.. I think Haye should fight someone more like.. joe hipp.. someone on that level..
bring back Joe Hipp and let Haye fight him

Rachman has "Hobo" printed on the back of his trucks. Its not just a brand, Rachman is trying to let people know what he is.

I think he could but as I said before he could also end up on his back. He will shock those fat bums with his speed and attacking style. Going on the Klits last performance he will piss his pants if Haye goes after him. Then again could Haye bring out the best in Wlad??

That would mean that Rahman would have to throw a punch.

I guess Rahman technically qualifies as a "top ten" guy, though honestly speaking he's done little to deserve it.
He hasn't beaten a "name" since Barrett (who is borderline, at best)...and the draw against Toney is his last decent result.
It's an alright fight for Haye to get his feet wet in, though, because Rahman is strong and has a relatively heavy punch, plus he's always had a pretty good jab. He's a pretty standard jab-right hand fighter. Not too complicated for Haye, plus he's slow and usually lacking in enough stamina that a reasonably good heavyweight should beat him.

I am quite surprised with Rahman as the choice for 1st real heavyweight fight.
If nothing else, he can punch, and that alone makes it risky for a guy that was KO'd at cruiserweight.

It's typical Haye to pick a guy like Rahman. He knows that people will at least recognise the name (Rahman-Lewis I was on BBC) and, as you point out, for a guy who's major weakness is his chin, is risky.
This one has been in the pipeline for a while, though. Haye was telling all and sundry he was gonna knock Rahman out just before he changed his mind and picked up muchos $$$$ for four minutes work against Enzo.
The lad is in a hurry. No 'Fraudley-esque' queue of outright bums required...

I just hope he doesn't get embarassingly stretched by Rahman
