I just read on Boxscene, that if Hatton beats Paulie(no guarantee) that instead of heading straight to a Floyd rematch, they'd like him to face either Pac, or the Diaz-Katsdidis winner. Thoughts?

Seems as if GB is trying to milk Ricky for everything he has left, before they cash him out, and let Floyd ass rape him again. And this doesnt benefit Ricky at all, cause assuming he does get past these next two fights(which he might not) it'll be even MORE wear and tear on him for Floyd.

On a separate note, I'm REALLY loving in the idea of Diaz-Katsidis. I'll be praying that Katsidis beats the fuck outta Juanita!

Lazcano was a career lightweight. But I would favor Ricky over Diaz & Katsidis. But I think Katsidis is a tougher fight for Hatton, because Kat can punch. I think even this faded Hatton would beat the powder punching Juanita.

As for Pac, I dunno. Lets see how he looks against Diaz. 140 might be too much for him, weight wise. If he was able to carry his speed, and power up to 140, I see no reason why he wouldnt blast Hatton to hell.

Hmmm.... now that I think bout it more, that is possible. Pre-Mayweather, I'd have given Juan NO shot whatsoever, but it seems Floyd took alot out of Ricky, in addition to his lifestyle. Diaz outworking Hatton now is a possible scenario. Yet at the same time, lets see how Diaz rebounds after the Campbell loss. Diaz, just like Hatton, has a style that has no longevity. But Juan is still in his mid 20's, unlike Hatton, so I think Diaz has about another year or so as a major player. However, Diaz depends on being able to bully opponents, and against Hatton he would be at a strength disadvantage.

There is another way to bet Hatton and that would be to totally outman him. Something Cotto would have done at 140. Something that both him and Margarito would do now. I presume Cintron would do it too.

I think that 6-12 months depends on who he's going to fight...or who he's likely to fight.

Based on who he's likely to fight, he might be able to go that long without losing.

Well, Hatton's put in a lot of hard work in his career. He has a very hard style to maintain, so I'm not surprised that at the tail end of his career he wants to get paid.

I think Malignaggi is a relatively safe fight toward that eventual 'pay day" against Mayweather (if it happens).

Better to take the money to lose to Mayweather than a lesser fighter for a lot less money. If it happens in England and he can get away with a bit more rough stuff maybe he mitigates some of the damage and perhaps lasts the distance. I still think he could've gone the route against Mayweather if he had the mindset for it.

I don't know, I'm always skeptical about fighters talking about their career winding down and how they will retire.

In addition to the money, they often later speak about how they miss the adrenaline rush and the crowd cheering for them. Hatton has an amazing fan base, it's hard to picture him walking away from the sport unless he's old and sucks, like most fighters when they hang them up for good.

I'm still highly skeptical about Mayweather's willingness to go to the U.K. and fight Hatton. I'm wondering if he's just using it as leverage for negotiations in a Cotto fight, unless the rematch is to take place in Vegas again then I think he'd fight Hatton again.
