Anselmo Moreno (22-1-1, 8 KOs) dethroned previously unbeaten WBA bantamweight champion Wladimir Sidorenko (21-1-2, 7 KOs) via unanimous decision on Saturday night at the Burg-Wächter Castello in Düsseldorf, Germany. It was a technical fight with the much taller Moreno prevailing by scores of 116-113, 116-112 and 116-112. Sidorenko's world title reign ended in his seventh defense.

In other action, heavyweight Taras Bidenko (26-2, 12 KOs) won a ten round unanimous decision over veteran Michael Sprott (30-12, 15 KOs) by scores of 97-93, 97-94, 97-93. Bidenko has now won twelve straight. Also cruiserweight Alexander Alekseev (15-0, 14 KOs) impressively continued his path of destruction across the cruiserweight landscape with a two round demolition of former contender Louis Azille (19-6-2). Alekseev is a former Olympian and amateur world champion.

The WBA finally did it. They tried hard and long to get the title back to South America, although it certainly wasn´t a bad decision. You could tell from Moreno´s record that he can fight.
