Hopkins-Lipsey

Jeez this was brutal. Hops was fighting the undefeated Lipsey, who was 25 and 0 with 20kos. Hops crushed him in the fourth with a left hook/right uppercut that stands Lipsey straight up, motionless, and helpless. Hops then nails him with a brutal right hand that starts to send him down, and then nails him with two left hooks and a SCREAMING right hand that sent Lipsey to the canvas for a two point landing: his right shoulder and his head.

Lipsey never fought again.

Lipsey was a good fighter. Nice puncher, short shots and had a decent motor. But the writing was on the wall for him already. I'm guessing his camp saw the same things I did and figured that the chance at a world title right now, is better than not getting one at all down the line.

It didn't go well at all. A shame, because Lipsey had a lot to offer the fans at home. He was a made for TV guy.

Can anyone find the the Derrick Jefferson/Maurice Harris fight. That KO was brutal. Also the Samuel Peters vs Jeremy Williams.

To me it appears that fighters that fight in conventional style it appears that their best KO punch is the left hook. I wonder if their were ever statistics taken as to which punch produced the most ko's it would be the left hook. I'll Holla 5000

Alright, well in terms of a brutal knockout that I think is forgotten...Gatti-Munoz. Everybody seems to remember the Gamache blow out because of Gatti came in so heavy, but he did the same thing against Munoz who was just about in as bad a shape as Gamache.

Another little discussed knockout is John Michael Johnson-Augie Sanchez. Sanchez had a Michael Bennett-like glass chin, and it was shattered in this fight.

Wilfredo Vazquez-Eloy Rojas was a great knockout that doesn't get talked about a lot.

Its hard for me to watch that KO, as Will is one of my all time favs. Hilton was pretty limited, but the SOB could punch like hell!

However, that version of Benitez was a shell, far removed from the version that schooled Duran, and Hope. Prime Benitez woulda boxed Hilton's ass off.

That was almost a gimmie for him, McCrory was not there at all. The way he set up the hook, on an alert McCrory, and how perfectly executed it is, is incredible.
