GIOVANNI LORENZO: TIME TO STEP UP - Undefeated middleweight contender Giovanni Lorenzo has been waiting for this opportunity. He has hungered for the chance to showcase his talents and prove to the world that he is ready to battle for a world title. The only person standing in his way is Raul Marquez:

Lorenzo on Pavlik-Lockett: “I think Pavlik could get beat. He is an overrated fighter who wants to fight bums who nobody gives a damn about."
Pot, kettle... and all that good stuff. And that's ignoring the fact that Pavlik's already earned his keep

Ive never seen Lorenzo fight Jake. Would he have a prayer against Pavlik?
If he's anywhere near as good as his puffed up record, then... maybe. From what I've seen, he's not a complete fraud, but his level of opp is so poor that it's nearly impossible to properly gauge
Personally, methinks Main Events is protecting him for a reason. I mean damn, he's an Olympian, been a pro for six years/26 fights, yet today's version of Raul Marquez represents far and way his toughest test yet.

Agreed.
Lorenzo is extremely strong, powerful and has a wealth of amateur experience. He's also a tad chinny. And has been horribly mismanaged...or, as Jake suggests (which is very plausible), is being protected for a reason. His opposition has been GODAWFUL.

Marquez looked pretty good against McKart. If Lorenzo is a hype job then Raul should beat him.

How can anyone who's biggest fight will be against Marquez talk shit about Pavlik's level of comp? That is crazy talk.
