I'm 6'0, 180 pounds now, and when I jump, I can barely grab the rim of a Basketball hoop. I feel if I gained at least 6'' on my vert, I'd be able to dunk one handed cleanly.

What's the best way to do this? Squats? Box jumping?

plyo drills.. box jump.. stuff like that..

they also make shoes that you can do exercises that come with them..

If you do plyo drills and train hard you should be dunking!

I'm 5'9 and can grab rim and dunk a small ball with one hand

Thanks Hut*Hut.

I seriously want to gain 6''-12'' inches on my vert so I can jam the ball by the end of this year.

Not so much. I can squat around 280-ish and I'm 180. I want to get up to 350 but I just haven't had much time to really concentrate on squats. But I will though. I'm really dedicated to trying to jam the ball this year. :hammert:

aye, from what that guy has to say, nothing would be as beneficial as getting your squat numbers way up. Probably explains why LOK can dunk at 5'9, being a strong bastard n' all. From what I've read Rippetoe's starting strength program is the best there is and once you stall on that Bill Star's 5x5 is the best progression.

I worked out sets with 585 on squats
