Those pics certainly don't tell the story of the fight.

Who cares what their faces look like, if you didn't see the fight there is no reason to make such a thread. Forrest won, it was legit.

What's ironic is that this might be the best Griffin's face has ever looked after a fight....

That picture was actually taken before the fight.

If Liddell beats Rashad, he'll face Griffen at the end of the year. If Liddell loses, then I'd imagine we'll see a Griffen\Rampage rematch.

I don't know about you lads but Rampage looked like sh*t to me in that fight. Flat, disinterested and his physique was soft. Not his best level IMO. I guess 9 months off to film a tv show is not the best thing for a champion.

I said the same thing in the other thread. It's as disinterested as Rampage has ever looked actually, I think he really underestimated forrest, and just didn't get up for the fight.

I don't want to take credit away from forrest though, he fought VERY well, no doubt about it.

He's not particularly talented, but he really makes the most of what little talent he has.

That's why it's hard not to like the guy. He knows he isn't a big puncher. He knows he's not BJJ guy. He knows he's not a former All American wrestler.

He just plain works harder and keeps pushing forward. He is the epitome of a blood and guts warrior.

Seriously, how many people thought the fight was over when Rampage landed that uppercut? I did. The ref almost did. Everyone except Griffin probably thought so. The dude is tough.

I'd say he's pretty talented.

The right guy got the decision and that's all that matters. Go back to Sherdog with the rest of the whiners if you want to cry about it.

Exactly, Griffen deserved no more than a draw, not a major robberie to give the win to Forrest, but by those scores ( 49-46 is, without a doubt, corrupt ):doh: Smells like bullshit from the UFC, no doubt that it's far better for them to have Forrest the champ

I agree.

I am not even sure why, but for some reason I used to dislike Forrest. Not hate him or anything, I just didn't like him or rate him.

But for the reasons you stated he is the sort of guy that's hard not to like, and he seems like a decent guy too.

And yes I thought the fight was over, AND after that I just kept thinking, it's only a matter of time before Rampage lands another vicious punch and forrest is out of here.

LOL! You souund like half of Sherdog right now. Everyone is whining. It was a close fight, I thought Forrest won it and so did the judges. You can't really believe Rampage did enough to win the fight can you? Did you give him a 10-8 first round?

Guys, you're letting your bias against White and the UFC cloud your judgement.

That fight was close and could have been scored either way, but it is far, far, far from a robbery. Hell, even Rampage thought he got his ass whupped.

Beside all that, Dana White is all about the cash. In my opinion, and the crowd echoed this, Rampage is the far more marketable champion. His huge slams and KO power have far greater crowd appeal than the workman-like Griffin.

Again, it was a close fight but wasn't fixed.

TFK

You're a fool if you think he is a talented fighter. Success doesn't equal talent.

You know better than this TFK, you're looking at it from a shallow perspective.

Juan Diaz was a world champion, he is not particularly talented, his greatest asset was workrate and stamina, part of which came from hard work, not raw talent. He also beat Freitas, does that mean he is more talented? No.

Forrest isn't very fast, isn't very powerful, doesn't have amazing reactions, or movement, or defense etc etc. He doesn't have a huge amount of natural talent. He doesn't even have a particularly good chin.

Both Shogun and Rua are more talented fighters, and it's not even arguable.

Forest is gutsy, determined, has decent stamina, is mentally and physically tough, obviously works hard and gives it his all, and has a decent amount of skill too. All of those things don't equal talent.

And like I said, that's what make his wins more impressive, that is not the most naturally talented fighter around.

Yes it smells fix, not because Forrest won but because of the ridiculous scorecard, and Griffin is more known and far more marketable to the general public that the UFC aims imo, even more considering a Griffin-Liddel match makes a lot more sense, money wise, than any other match save maybe Couture-Fedor.

Actually, Forrest's legkicks are pretty powerful, but he's just not a KO puncher. Rampage IS, but he needs to be able to get the bomb to the detonation site, and Forrest took that away by hammering his lead leg with those kicks. Rampage almost pirouetted from a few of them.

I lost nothing on the fight. It's my honest opinion. I'd love to say that Jackson got his ass kicked and lost legit. I have criticized Jackson in the past for some bad decisions he received before as well. This time he got the short end of the stick. Forrest almost got KO'ed in round 1 and he won that round?

Almost so what - If you stun somebody momentarily it doesn't mean you win the round.

Forrest won that fight fair and square and Im not one bit surprised. Rampage took his eye of the ball and paid for.

Stunned? He wasn't stunned he was dropped hard as hell. Rampage won rounds 1,3 and 4. Deal with the fact that Forrest got a gift. The fact that any judge gave round 1 to Griffen tells me there was something shady about this fight.
