That's not what you were saying at the time,..you were defending Fraud like a groupie.
There is overwelming evidence that Fraud ducked Margarito,.. Cotto on the otherhand?.. well he's got more balls in the sense that he's willing to fight the man Fraud undoubtably FEARS,.. but Fraud DID enquire about a fight with a much less developed Cotto, as he does, he thought he would run, backtwist and elbow his way to a decision,...but Arum pleaded no contest,.. so it's a bit hard to say that Fraud ducked Cotto unless he turns something down these days,..
Electronic Margarito KO 4.....he dont like right though,..., real Margarito, robbed in 12.
Cotto is going to stop Margerito..
Floyd will most likely come out of "retirement" and dominate Cotto

Cotto needs to skin his gloves as per usual. That's much easier to do with 8 oz. gloves. Slide that tape up.......by the time he enters the ring, he may as well have MMA gloves on.
Margarito's camp better superivise this and not allow him his usual tape job.

Here is the latest from the Cotto camp, http://www.elnuevodia.com/diario/noticia/boxeo/deportes/ahora_esta_mucho_mejor/430839
It has been translated as well. Enjoy!
Now he's much better! (Story Title)
http://www.elnuevodia.com/XStatic/endi/images/espanol/cotto-mucho-mejor.jpg
The Columbian Dionisio Miranda is sufering the same thing that Cotto previous opponents have, indicating that Cotto's body work is amazing.
"He is a very strong fighter, and hit extremely hard to the body, he loves to hit there" Miranda
Miranda who has a pro record of 19 wins, 2 looses and 18 knockouts is a Jr. Middleweight who is 6'1 in height.
"I simply go and fight with Cotto, I try to do exactly like Margarito but Cotto is a fighter that also likes to move forward. He is working a variety of things, backing up and moving forward cutting off the ring effectively" Miranda
Lau, another very tall middleweight who helped Cotto prepare for Mosley indicated:
"Miguel now is a much better boxer. He has worked very hard in improving his boxing skills and conditioning. He is looking very good and handles very well the pressure we are placing on him" Lau
Evangelista Cotto; uncle trainer and manager of the Caguas native indicated:
"All we are trying to do is to ensure Cotto is ready for Margarito's style... everything is going as planned. Now let's see if we can carry these things into the ring" Evangelista
Evangelista also dismissed rumors that Cotto has already peaked or is currently peaking. "Not true, sure he is already at a low weight but it is becuase we are training properly. Its simply that he has no problem in this weight class, thats why he looses the weight so easy"
"I have done my part and feel very happy with the work already done" Miguel Cotto
When Cotto was asked about so many experts who are actually picking Margarito and also fighting in Vegas, Cotto replied:
"All of my 32 opponents have said that same thing and all of the 32 has found out that Miguel Cotto is the winner. It will continue to be this way, do not doubt, I will adjust to any style that Margarito will bring and do anything possible to win on July 26th" Cotto <SCRIPT type=text/javascript> digg_bgcolor = 'transparent'; digg_skin = 'compact'; digg_window = 'new'; digg_url = 'http://www.miguelcotto.com/smf/index.php?topic=10837.msg94635#msg94635'; digg_title = 'Miguel Battering sparring partners (Eng & Spanish links)'; digg_bodytext = 'From endi.com newspaper, did my best to translate. http://www.elnuevodia.com/diario/noticia/boxeo/deportes/ahora_esta_mucho_mejor/430839 The Columbian Dionisio Miranda is sufering the same thing that Cotto previous opponents have, indicating that Cotto's body work is amazing. all good Hex this is coming from some hack named Frank Igor. He was the one who supposedly quote Tony as saying that he would stop Cotto in 4 if he fought and 8 if he ran. I asked Tony's manager and he said Tony never said that, that very few have been allowed into Tonys camp, and that he was there the day this guy supposedly interviewed Tony and no one interviewed Tony that day.
he is now saying Tony was 147 two weeks before the fight. I shot video of Tony July 2nd and no way was he even close to 147. He was a healthy 155ish and not at the point where he is cutting (all this week)

The venues in Puerto Rico are a little further than 130 miles away from MSG ... but point taken. Arum seriously overplayed his hand in bringing this fight to Vegas. Who gives a fuck if the West Coast media isn't as willing to travel to cover the event live?
I'm sure ticket sales will pick up next week, the week of the fight, but a lot of the shit he's had to say in the past about the industry is taking a big bite out of his ass lately.

This fight would have done great if it had been in MSG. But I also blame Arum. This fight has not had it's proper promotion. No 24/7? This fight is candidate for fight of the year. I think Arum could have done a much better job.

It's hard to blame Arum for no 24/7 when he had to beg HBO to just do a Countdown special. But I agree, the promotion deserved a lot better than for Top Rank to just put it on auto-pilot and expect the event to sell itself.

no I dont think he will ever try and outbox anyone it's just not how Tony fights. I do think he will be smarter with the pressure he will bring to Cotto. Camp has been good, they have been working refining some of the traits Tony has in him and his punches seem to have a crispness to them as opposed to his normally thudding sound.

Nice to hear that camp is going well,.. who is he sparring?.. and is he aware or suprised by how many thoroughly bitter idiots think that dispite him proving beyond any possible doubt his granite chin and toughness, the popular prediction is that Cotto will engage in a slugfest and essentially walk through him and out-brawl him :shit: ,...

I don't tink Cotto is going to "walk through him" he has a hell of a chin!

EL Nuevo Dia published an interview with Cotto today. To the question if Margarito will be the biggest challenge he has faced, Cotto, with his usual calm answered, "Margarito is just another opponent I'll have to face and beat. To me this fight is the same as the fights with Judah and Mosley. My job is to train hard, be in the best condition possible and get in the ring to win." Cotto also hinted that he is not planning to go toe-to-toe when the fight starts. "Through the years I have demostrated that not only I am a puncher, but that I can move, I can box, that I am a complete boxer. And that is the kind of fighter that people like to watch. In this fight I'll do everything I need to do to win."
Kenny Bayless will be the referee. Dave Moretti, Jerry Roth & Glen Hamada will be the judges.

Holy shit i have never seen him so ripped. I hope he is not over training.
he is hungry and he's gonna destroy marg..
really I think he could go up to middle.. he's pretty lean at this weight already.. he is prolly 150 there or a little more..
I guess he is pretty short so maybe I take that back..

I agree I never seen him this cut including near his fight weight of 147! He normally looks like skelator. He seems in excellent conditioning. He knows Margarito is no bum and is going to fight!
WAR COTTO!!!

They actually do a pretty good job of covering boxing on the the dot com...and often have front page coverage of big fights (with several writers, not just Rafael).
It's really just the tv (Sportcenter and ESPNEWS) where it doesn't much attentin.

This is why we need big fights during the summer in the middle of baseball season. There is nothing else on and boxing can get the coverage it deserves. When college and pro football is on and the college and pro basketball seasons, you would find this as a one line headline on the right bar of ESPN. Maybe the top right bar feature column. The hype to the fight would have been about 10% of what it got.
Tonight it's on the front page.
