He postponed the fight several times and eventually retired. Did Vitaly chicken out?:dunno: Or was he really having injuries? Perhaps there is a psychological factor because Rahman beat Lewis and Lewis gave Vitaly a very hard fight. If Vitaly had faced Rahman he would have turned him into a bloody pulp.

I still think Vitaly had a scare in sparring a week before the fight. That's what the rumor was around Vegas, that he had been KO'd in sparring. He was slated to make 9 million for that fight. That's a lot of cash.

somebody explain to me how Vitali faced Lewis, ate every hard punch Lewis threw at him. Even back to back clean uppercuts. Yet somehow he was afraid of Rahman? :dunno:
I can understand if Vitali refused to fight Rahman and continued to face others but he didn't. He ended up hanging up the gloves.
at this stage it's silly not to believe Vitali's injuries. They were legit and have been publicly documented.
People need to stop and think for a second what each fighter represents and there is nothing Rahman brings to the table that Vitali couldn't deal with.
Rahman lost to Ruiz for god's sake. I don't like Vitali much but this is fucking stupid.

It only took Calzaghe 15 years to fight outside of 168, so maybe in 2050, he will go for the cruiserweight title.

The guy fights Lewis gets his eye nearly knocked out of his head and wants a rematch. He retires for 4 years and comes back to fight Samuel Peter, a guy much better than Rahman. If Rahman was holding the title instead of Peter it would have been Rahman getting his ass beat Saturday. Vitali would murder Hasim, no doubt.

I just think there's nothing worse than ankle-biting little chihuaha sized dogs, talking shit about heavyweights while hiding behind 'p4p' lists and recieving all these compliments from mainstream fans about them being 'real fighters' despite the fact that they have no gravity to contend with, nor do they get slugged in the skull by men with tree-trunk arms and legs :crafty:.

Interestingly, Rahman has a reach advantage over Vitali. 80" to 82". He did get Lewis with the jab quite a few times. Today though, Rahman is washed up.
