Yes it's a shame it's on PPV, and no, as fans, we shouldn't buy it but it's a pretty solid card nonetheless.
I think Faber has a chance vs Aldo. I feel a real A class fighter will beat up on Faber who rely way too much on his athleticism and has very poor technic, but is Aldo one ?? Sure he looked great vs Brown but word out of the camp is that Brown had numerous problems going in the fight. Remeber, at first it was Faber who was one of the best p4per ( wich I felt was ridiculous ), then it was Brown and now it's Aldo. Seems more like some good Zuffa hype top me. Aldo may be overrated following his ko of Brown, and if he's as good as he looked there then he gets Faber out of there early and easilly. But he's probably not, still, he'll be good enough to take a decision.
Brown-Gamburyan is a good fight too. Could turn out to be a stinker thought.
This actually is a really good card. But I will be out of state at a family function overnight, so I'm not gonna be able to catch it, PPV or stream.
Oh well, it's not like there's a lack of MMA coming up. UFC 113 is in 2 weeks. Then Strike Force a week after that. Then UFC 114 2 weeks after that. Then UFC 115 2 weeks after that. Then the Ultimate Fighter Finals on Spike a week after that. Then UFC 116 2 weeks after that....etc, etc, etc.

I am really excited about this fight as well. I will not be buying it as a matter of principle, but will try to catch a stream of it.
As much as I love Faber, I think Aldo may be too much for him. Aldo is just that good. Fabers main advantage is usually his speed and athleticism. This will be nullified in this fight and Aldo has better power and technique. Also, even though we haven't seen much of Aldos ground game, Faber needs to be careful there too as Aldo is a BJJ black belt at one of the best schools there is.

Anyone picking Faber?
I hope this restores my passion in the sport. Too much product along with mediocre events have drained my MMA enthusiasm.

I'm guessing the buys will be between 200 to 500.
WEC is nowhere near at a stage to be putting on PPVs.

Exactly. And this will set them back a few steps.
I think they were on their way with the dominance of Aldo and the popularity of Faber, but this one should have been on TV.

it definitely should have been on tv. I had nothing to watch tonight either. But I ain't paying that kind of money for WEC.

Hilarious fight, pretty entertaining.
You have to hand it to the little dudes, the fights are usually so much more action packed than the heavier weights.
People complain about this being on PPV, but I would rather pay for this card, than the recent shitty fucking UFC card with Anderson Silva, and the recent Strikeforce card.
I think the Korean won by the way. In fact, what the fuck is up with all the awful decisions in MMA recently? I thought Sung Jung won every round.
The judges are picked off the streets.

handerson's a fast explosive guy. he should go over to UFC and fight the winner of penn-edgar II.
Anyone find it interesting that there hasn't been a single reference to the WEC tonight? No logos, even when Ben won, he was STILL ...lightweight champion of the world.

Good point, even the on screen graphics just says "Aldo Vs Faber", no logo or anything.
What do you think that's about?

this seems like a UFC production to me. has joe rogan commentated on a WEC event before?
i've never seen dana white on any of the previous WEC telecasts although i'm not really an avid follower of this promotion.

Aldo really was chopping Faber legs in the 1st round. Pretty slow round but Aldo methodically picked Faber, who's game is full of hole as usual, but Aldo is quick enough to capitalize on it

woops, missed the 1st round, so my comment was about the 2nd. Still, more of the same, Aldo dominating and had Faber in the crucifix a la kimbo-big country. Pretty dull fight thought

no way, just like kimbo-nelson, these shot were nothing, and he took a beating to the legs, not the face, so it,s not like if he's in danger. HOnestly, this post is way overboard, the fight was dull as fuck , and it makes you look like an overexcited kid

Shit fight, and Faber was just too content to last the distance, he didn't really try to win. He's still fairly tough though.
Brilliant textbook Muy Thai chop down performance slightly downgraded because of way too much respect for an overmatched opponent.
WEC is gay. Just a farmleague for UFC. I hope they make 6 ppv buys so Dana can stop hyping this pile of sh*t.

Yeah, considering the UFC doesn't even have a 145 pound division that makes sense.
The card tonight was incredible and Aldo is among the top 10 best fighters in the world.

overexcited? i wouldnt go that far. i thought it was a one-sided beatdown and it was a bit tough to watch considering the amount of damage aldo was inflicting each time he landed his kicks.
when he had him in the crucifix, he landed a lot of punches and elbows although the contact range was limited. not sure what was the purpose of letting that fight go through round 5 considering faber had ZERO chance of pulling any tricks out of his hat.
i agree that it wasn't exciting, but it wasn't 'dull' as you'd put it. it was a display of dominance by aldo and something anderson silva should've done to maija two weeks ago.

And it was entertaining. Hell, the free fights on Spike were great.

Really? What competition got 'better' at 185? Franklin is still an even money fight with anyone in the division except for Anderson Silva. The division didn't get 'better' than Franklin, only Anderson Silva did.
But the comparison is a good one in the sense that Faber would never be able to beat Aldo. Faber can either be content being second or third best in the division or hope Aldo jumps up to 155 to challenge Ben Henderson.

I have to disagree. Aldo is just on another level than the rest of the division. Faber is still just as good as anyone else in the division not named Aldo.
Aldo is actually a very big 145'er and I think he needs to make some noise in the UFC as a lightweight.

Remove the strikes from the crucifix and you see that very few strikes landed. Don't get me wrong, Aldo methodically dissected Faber, but I don't feel it was brutal at all.

I think if BJ had swept aside Edgar like he had done the other contenders...there would be a clamoring to see Aldo move up...but for now i don't think they'll rush him into the UFC.
I'm interested to see what happens with Ben Henderson....a couple of solid defences under his best and he may be looking for the move

Aldo is a badass.
Seeing Brown lose to Manny was a tough pill for me to swallow. I like Brown. Manny really served himself well dropping to 145. Look for Aldo vs Manny next.
I know alot of you are high on Henderson right now, but the guy just looks sooooo average to me. I am not sure I would pick him over Clay Guida.
