We're getting unusually warm weather up here in Canada, and I took advantage yesterday by running 5km outside and then climbing rope. Between that, cleaning ice off the trampoline (in some places the ice was at least 5 inches thick), and then jumping on the trampoline with my little lad, I had an active Sunday.

It's really nice out today, so I'm doing another run tonight (8km). I guess that makes today Day 2 because I want to do another 100 day challenge. Compartmentalizing the challenges like this keep me focused.

Hope everyone's training is going good. :)

Other than a 2-day cold snap on Saturday and Sunday of this coming week, it's supposed to stay above freezing here in Ottawa (At this height above sea level, the freezing point of water is -4 degrees celsius). I'm going to try to do at least 2/3 of my hundred day runs outside. I'll use this thread to keep track like last time as well as note other stuff.

By my count May 15th will be the hundredth day. Here we go again. :shadow:

It took you till February to do the first outdoor run? That's poor form, Bud.

I ran indoors prior to that, AG. I don't want to get sick, but now the weather is above zero. :)

Very nice on the 9 miles. I did squats and leg presses at lunchtime today, so my jog is going to be more of a wobbly trot tonight.

At least I waited until after my workout to do calves today. Otherwise I'd be dead on my run. I won't be setting any records in the 5km today.

Day 3 of Buddy Rydell's 100-Day Fitness Challenge:
-5km jog in really freezing cold
-one climb up the rope
-squats, leg press, and rope crunches at lunch time
-woodchopping in a few minutes
-tonight some Wii Fit and Wii Sports

I'm gonna stay active and let the chips fall where they may. Unfortunately it's too cold to use the trampoline with my little lad, but it'll be warmer in a day or two.

Well, I had to leave work early yesterday.I got a headache so bad that I went to the washroom and puked. The temperature yesterday was -15. Today it's +1, and tomorrow it'll be around -15 again, so the changes in pressure systems are aggravating the nerves in my head.

I feel better now though, so I'm gonna go for a run in a little bit.

And cut this shit out. I've seen your pictures. The only cardio you do is speed walking to the fridge.

Day 5: Even though I was sick yesterday, I managed a 5km run today as well as a climb up the rope. Overall I'm making decent progress, but I hope this weird weather lets up.

ran 6.6 miles/10.6 km today, in 49 mins. that;s average 7 mins 25 seconds per mile. that's on the street, carlito brigante-style. had it in me to double it, do a half-marathon distance, but knee started to feel a twinge.

That's quite good, rooster. I'm actually thinking of working up to a full marathon this summer just to see if I can do it. I live in the country and there are nice spots where you see almost no cars for 20+ minute stretches.

Buddy, what about cycling, rowing and swimming?

Buddy, what about cycling, rowing and swimming?

I like them, but since there's 2ft of snow outside my door, it's hard to bike, row, or swim through the snowdrifts, so I jog beside them.

Now when it's April, I can row on the lake. We have a canoe and a small 12ft aluminum fishing boat with double oars and oarlocks.

I don't bike around here though. There's no bicycle paths and a few years ago, this knob plowed through 5 cyclists in a row. One's messed up for life even though they were all wearing protective gear. I run on the left-hand side of the road so I can see what's coming.

Also there's a beach about 15-20km down the road, so I can swim there all summer. :)

Damn, it's pretty nice outside. It's so nice we got a chance to sled downhill, use the trampoline, and climb rope. Springtime is coming.
