1408 (2007) Finally watched this film that I had in my collection collecting dust for a long time. John Cuzack plays a writer and investigator of haunted places. He comes across a notorious room at the Dolphin Hotel managed by Samuel L. Jackson. Against all advices Cusack's character decides to spend the night at that room which no one has ever come out alive. What follows is a set of supposedly creepy events that culminates in a climax so ridiculous that came close to the sillyness of The Manitou, the 1978 horror film starring Tony Curtis that IMO had the most ridiculous climax of all horror films ever made. While 1408 is not as bad as the Manitou, it borrowed some scenes from it. Don't get me wrong: I love The Manitou. It is one of those films that is so bad is fun. The special effects were not credible and it only can scare a 10 year old. 6.5/10
I was looking for a Raptor Pope first, but I couldn't find one that was well done, the Papal Mitre was too obscured A raptor wearing the hat looked funnier in my mind, but Raptor Jesus will have to do
