Not necessarily because they're bad songs or anything, but songs that just make you feel uneasy for reasons you can't quite put your finger on. I remember McDogg saying something about surf guitar freaking him out (might be wrong about that though). For me, it's Summer in the City by The Lovin' Spoonful. It's a classic song but something about it just jars with me and I have to turn it off, no idea why.

    Too many to mention....hundreds.
The entire Red Hot Chilli Peppers / Foo Fighters / Coldplay catalogues for starters.

Yeah but do you just hate them because they're shit? It's more like an irrational hatred in this case, you don't like the song but you're not sure why.

All that mumble rap shit that people try to pretend was born recently. That shit has been going since about 2003 in rap.

Anything by Rihanna. I still don't know why she sings. Sounds like a dying cat.

Anything by Eminem or Lil Wayne. Em has truly fallen off and Wayne was just always terrible.

I hardly ever listen to the radio so am not sure what's in the charts these days, I'm assuming Eminem has a new album out or something because I keep hearing one of his songs when I'm out and about. It's proper fucking wank. The guy takes himself far too seriously, I quite liked him when he started out doing all the crazy, funny stuff.

Yeah I'm in the same boat. I liked Em back then even though he was insanely overrated.

Hearing him now is like nails to the chalk board. He's absolutely AWFUL.

The whole genre of Rap/hip-hop I avoid like the plague. It has rub me the wrong way since 1979 with "Rapper's Delight" and is even worst today. I get in a bad mood if I have to endure listening to one of those vomit inducing garbage lyrics that idiots call 'poetry'.

    Pure garbage, right?
Black music took the biggest nosedive in the history of music with the advent and popularity of Rap and Hip-Hop....and never recovered.

To be honest I always considered Em more like a rapper/comedian in his earlier days. It was fun and fresh. Basically up to the 'Without Me' era. Always hated Stan and stuff like Toy Soldiers was lame.

Haven't listened to any new Em and probably won't. I think he's had his day and much like Wu Tang needs to take a backseat.

But even the Wu today makes some decent stuff by comparison to Em.

Eminem just makes horrible music that I seriously cannot even listen to anymore. Annoying voice, stupid lyrics, terrible beats, and the hooks are just hilarious. And even though I never rated him as highly as his groupies did, I did enjoy some of his guest verses and a few tracks. But overall, I always felt he tried too hard to be up with the all time great emcees and he just came off corny as a result.

    100% agreed.
How anyone with any semblence of 'musicality' about them could not have seen this from his very first release is totally beyond me.
Everything in bold: all you need to know.

Oh he was a chav idol on these shores when he was big, no doubt. Still, I enjoyed those albums, they were funny.

Eminem's rapping has always been much better than his actual music to me. I like some of his music, but prefer him just rapping on a radio show or something as opposed to his albums. The beats and choruses are often so poor. His best album, MMLP, was solid but no classic. There's many verses that he leaves me in awe from his rhyme schemes and just overall skills, but his albums have fallen fall short of his rapping skills.

He's the opposite of Too $hort, who was never the most technical MC with an agile flow but made solid albums for so long.

He makes some catchy stuff and has some good verses, but he's mostly just ehhh to me. I understand that most rappers get at least some help with their lyrics, but he gets a ton of ghostwriters, and all these journalists came to his defense. You can't be recognized as one of the top MCs if you have over 80 people writing your lyrics on one album.

He used the opening lines from Rappin 4-Tay's "Playaz Club" and it wasn't to pay "homage" like many rappers do, he just straight up used the same lyrics because his ghostwriter probably told him to. And ended up paying $100k (which 4-Tay probably spent on coke).

    This ad is just insulting:

I liked that Kill You song, it was so ridiculous and over the top, made me laugh.

No it's a sombre and poignant tribute to the victims of the Rwandan genocide, I'm just a sick guy.

Back on track, that's a good example. Is it just the overall feel of the song or one specific part of it?

Not sure, I just find the chorus really obnoxious.
