How hard Floyd punches isn't the issue. The fact that McGregor won't know where shots are coming from is the problem. All Floyd needs to do is relax, let McGregor go a few rounds and once Conor takes a few deep breaths Floyd start to counter the shit out of him. It's really a cat and mouse game at that point.

Conor will eventually run into something he doesn't see and that will be that. He was flat out gassed in the first Diaz fight before the end of the first round.

This matchup is comical. I can't believe we're actually discussing it.

He'd last perhaps a minute...maybe two...assuming he used his feet to stay disengaged. Once an MMA fighter grabbed him the fight is over seconds later. He'd get submitted before knocked out. Hopefully choked out.

Who gives a shit. Mma fighters have been ktfo by boxers in the past, so to say one of the best boxers ever has 0% chance is just stupid.

MMA isnt street fighting. There are rules. Also, Mayweather isnt a knok
Mayweather has 0 chance in an MMA ring. Just like James Toney had 0 chance.

    Does Ray Mercer?

True, but Ray landed a great overhand right against Tim Sylvia - which proves that a Boxer can end an MMA guy quick-fast.
And for every Mercer>Slyvia fight we have a Couture>Toney

But that was the exception to the rule.
Thankfully, we havent had a plethora of Boxing-MMA crossovers.....its realy not good for either sport, professionally.

Yeah he does. Much different fighter and he is a heavyweight who fought a 300 pound Silvia in some crap venue. Defensive fighting brittle fisted mayweather ain't doing that

I mean, Nate Diaz wobbled McGregor numerous times during their first fight, but then he´s a much bigger, aggressive 170lb guy with 4oz gloves.
Floyd will only force a stoppage if he takes the risk and engages - often - and in doing that, he thus gives Connor that slim chance of landing something...

So, basically, he will win by fighting in exactly the fashion of how he´s done for the last 12 years....

I think mcgregors awkward wide stance and in and out karate movement will trouble Floyd. I see both missing lots of shots.

    You hope, fanboy.

In truth, unless completely shot, mayweather should toy with this guy like a sparring session.

    Respectfully...

This is ridiculous. A wide stance allows Floyd to step around and counter him that much more easily. Conor will have zero balance and his feet will never be in position to counter. It'll be like a ballet dancer skipping around a hippo.

Floyd won't miss Conor much. I expect Floyd to throw very few punches and he won't need to. Every time Conor throws a punch there will be an opening the size of the Grand Canyon to exploit.

I disagree with Sly. This won't be like a sparring session. Sparring sessions are typically between two guys who know the craft. This is a side show.

Yeah, a wide stance 9 o'clock to 3 o'clock that would be easy for floyd to get around. Im talking wide long. 11 o'clock to 5 o'clock very long inching in and inching at pretty high speeds. I think it would will be very awkward. Conor will fight in stance that allows him to throw teep kicks. That is a huge arsenal of The Irishman and he is so use to that stance, i dont see him changing it. And if he uses that stance it will awkward for Floyd in the beginning.

Without the use of his feet and legs, with the experience Floyd has there's nothing Conor will show him that he hasn't seen. Conor can try to box but he'll get whitewashed due to the difference in skill.

He could try to fight a rough fight but he'll expend his energy which leads to a huge opening Floyd exploits and counters.

There's really no way to win this and he presents no trouble to Floyd. It's just a matter of how Conor decides he wants to lose.

Also, I've watched the "sparring" videos. It's pure comedy gold. None of that garbage will work against a professional fighter let alone one of the quality and skill of Floyd.

This fight will sell based on the chance that McCregor can "land something" but why would anyone think McCregor is some sort of KO puncher in boxing?

Gotta have a selling point, I reckon.

Otherwise, I agree. I doubt Conor's power transfers into boxing.

McGregor will look like a novice in there.......feet all splayed, weight on the back foot, hands not coming back to the chin after a shot - he'll get blasted.

    Lol.

It's not like Floyd hasn't been the recipient of trash talking before.

Exactly. MMA fighters are not as trained to take punches and this time he's wearing 8oz gloves. Plus he's a very slow puncher compared with an average boxer

Floyd has never seen the kind of trash talking that Conor will bring. Conor is pfp #1 as far as hyping fights goes.

Even worse. He has virtually no chance of hurting Mayweather.

Conor might not win the fight but I promise you he will damage floyd much more during the press conference than vice versa in the ring..im talking permanent damage...im talking shrink for the next 20 years..floyd is very very frail emotionally...if his ego was a chin itd be a wlad...i won't be surprised if there is a no trash talking clause in the contract

You're 1000% correct re: slow punches.

I watched several "sparring" videos and couldn't help but notice how slow Conor is. Couple that with not bringing his hands back to his face...add in he keeps his head and chin high when he punches.

It's going to be like tee ball for Floyd.
