Huh? It's not like books are going to refund. What the announcer announces in the ring is what they go by for the official settling of bets.

No, it's usually in the terms and conditions that the only way they would overturn a result is if there is human error in how the result is read out. So for example if a scorecard is tallied up wrongly or something like that.

like when ike quartey fought jose luis lopez. at first it was ruled quartey by decision then changed to a draw when they claimed they tallied the scorecards incorrectly.

that is why i usually go cash my ticket immediately after the scores are announced, bee line to the sports book.

Yeah. On bet365, which is where a lot of other books copy boxing lines from, they set it out like this.

"Bets will be settled on the result declared at the end of the fight by the official announcer. Subsequent appeals/amendments do not affect settlement (unless the amendment was made due to human error when announcing the result). If the official announcer does not declare a result at the end of a fight, markets will be settled on the result displayed on the applicable organisation's official site."

 

That Quartey fight is a good example. If you bet Quartey and didn't get to the counter to collect quickly or didn't withdraw from the online sportsbook in time to receive it, then you wouldn't get paid.
