That ain't fair. IMO, crocop is damn near the equivilant to liddel, only he is much bigger and more versatile.

If i was Couture, I would just retire with the HVY championship and call it a day. That would be a legendary ending to a legendary career.

Styles make fights alot of times. Sylvia got by this far on size. Tonight, he got beat by the best fighter he has ever fought...even if Randy is 43.

Look,....Sylvia is a waste. The best thing for the UFC and MMA is for guys like Sylvia to be exposed for what they are.

Does anyone in their right minds think that Sylvia could beat anyone in the top ten in PRIDE????

Good guy,...big guy...not that good and never was. Arlovski isn't either.

It's even worse considering he was getting his face punched in, on his feet, and dropped on his ass by a f*cking 43 year old WRESTLER!!!

There was plenty going on if you watch closely. Randy shut the man's eye from elbows on the ground. All the while, it looks like nothing is going on.

Is there a rule about standing up the fighters even though they are in a sub position? cause i remember couture just hanging at sylvias back in the 1st rd.

Normally they stand it up from a lack of action or a 'wet blanket' tactic being applied by a fighter. That's when the fighter just stays on top of another fighter and has no inclination of doing anything other than stalling the fight while the time itself runs out.
In this case, Randy was trying to apply a choke from the rear and Tim was trying to stop it. Since Randy was attempting to apply a choke in that position, the ref had no reason to stand it up. Even though it seemed subtle, there was action there on the ground because a move was being attempted by a fighter in order to win the fight. Plus it was a pro-Couture crowd therefore the ref would've taken some sh*t from the fans for not letting Couture do his thing.:jester:

Randy is one of the best athletes I've seen in a long time. The speed, strength and endurance he has for a man at 43 is phenomenal.

I'm so glad he rid us of Sylvia. The biggest stinker in MMA. Nothing worse than a cocky fighter who isn't even exciting. He and Matt Hughes are two of the most boring fighters in MMA. Great night for the Militich squad:jester:

I don't know what was my favourite round. the GNP rounds or when Randy was outboxing a guy with a 12 inch reach advantage. Either way it was domination. Now go away Sylvia.

Hughes did nothing but lay and pray in the third round.

They should have stood them up.

Tim is an elite striker? Wow!!! Just Wow!!!! Fourhooks must've been in one of his supremely drunk phases when he posted that, just like the other time when he acted like he was so drunk and came on here and posted a completely incoherent post.:jester:
You also had 20yearoldvirgin thinking Tim could make it in boxing based on his striking skills. Jeez!! Do these kids get impressed that easily? Tim can't even stand up straight for f*ck sakes! He has 2 left feet, no balance, no chin, no co-ordination, nothing! You don't get your face punched in by a 43 year old wrestler if you're an elite striker.

:jester: Steve was just stating the obvious. It's not like anybody, (well besides FourHooks who's normally drunk whenever he posts), considered Tim a top notch fighter. The guy can barely stand up straight, he's a slouched sloppy bum with no skills, no speed, no smarts, and he walks as if his feet are tied together with shoe lace. Dude got outboxed by a 43 year old wrestler who hasn't fought at heavyweight in 5 years, and coming off a 1 year layoff.
Then again, I can't say I was completely surprised at the result. Fact is, Tim Sylvia learned from Randy Couture. When Tim came to the UFC, he was in Randy's camp and Randy was throwing him around like a joke in practice. Size means nothing if you don't have the skills.
