How many here like me like to rewatch fights?

It's funny the perspective.. when you already have seen it and you are not anxious about it..

I re-watched Floyd-DLH last night.. you know.. when you just sit back and calmly analize that fight.. Floyd TOTALLY controlled and IMO Domintated the fight.

Iguess the first time, I was thinking maybe DLH will catch him.. or.. you never know but in watching it last night.. Floyd was never remotely close to being "in trouble"

    hell of a fight:bears:

Neither were close to being in trouble...shit fight.

here's a few which I have rewatched a few times so far in 2007:

    Brewster - Lyakovich
    Arce-Mijares
    Holyfield-Dokes
    Armando Santa-Cruz - Trejo
    Escalante - Pastrana
    Marquez - Austin
    Pavlik - Miranda

Outside of a live context where there was still an element of suspense, It was a pretty shit fight..I didn't watch it more than twice, and the second was just to make sure my scorecard held up...Oscar did little, blocked lots of shots, ran out of steam...Floyd did little, missed lots of shot, didn't run out of steam...mediocre stuff really

I've rewatched MAB/JMM a bunch of times. And Forrest/Quartey too.

ODH/PBF, everytime I rewatch it, I end up giving PBF less and less credit. First time I watched it, I thought ODH did a shtty job and deserved to lose. But watching it again a couple of times, it seems like PBF is the one who didn't do shit.

    I rewatch plenty of fights.

It is weird with boxing: I am a sports lunatic overall, but boxing is pretty much the only sport that has rewatchability. Track-and-field, hockey or football becomes boring if you rewatch it and/pr know the result, there is no reason for review. Boxing is a kind of art in addition to being a sport: it is pleasure to watch even without the excitement in the air. That I think is the reason why I have truned against open scorecards in boxing; at first I supported them

I agree, Boxing is the only sport I can watch over and over and over..

See.. it's strange to me that some say that figth sucked.. I thought it was very good and Floyd is a hell of a fighter.

i always score it for Hagler. he did more work, made the fight, didn't stink like Leonard, and hurt him more than once.

Hagler gave away the first FOUR rounds. That's a huge deficit to make up against a guy like Leonard. You telling me you had Hagler winning at least 7 of the next 8 rounds? Can't see it.

I had Leonard also winning the 6,8 and 9th rounds I believe.

i didn't give SRL all of the first 4 rounds. if i'm not mistaken, i recall thinking that Hagler clearly won the 4th round. didn't he fight south-paw in the 4th round?

Nah...the first round Hagler won was the 5th. 4th was clearly for Leonard. I think he even beduddled Hagler with a bolo punch in that round if I'm not mistaken!

    Ah...the good olde days....

the bolo punch was a low-blow !!! see. shows how much you know - you gave him credit for an obvious low-blow.

My point wasn't about whether the blow was low or not...the ref didn't penalize Leonard, Hagler was befuddled and thrown off...and Leonard won the round with his innovative genius.

Hagler turned SRL into a running bitch in that fight. Never before and never since was SRL ever feminized to such a humiliating extent.

oh and btw...when a fighter has a head as HARD as Hagler's there is no point in slugging it out with them..NONE. You just can't hurt that man. That's why Leonard was wise to box and move and ocassionally trade.

Against hearns, you can slug it out, because although Tommy hit MUCH HARDER than Hagler...he could be hurt.

i didn't say he should've traded with Hagler, just that he shouldn't have fought like such a bitch.

    "quit holding me you woman."

I usually rewatch fights of fighters in upcoming bouts I'm anticipating. Like this time last week, for example, I was watching Miranda's fights with Gibbs, Abraham, and Davis. Also Pavlik's fights with Zertuche and Pierre. I starting watching Judah and Cotto fights a few nights ago. Cotto-Torres has great replay value. Watching Judah-Baldomir, I realized my recollection of the fight was completely wrong. I remembered Judah handling Baldomir relatively easy until getting caught in the 7th round or whenever, but no. Baldomir was in that fight from the opening bell, and had Judah in more trouble than I remembered. Judah's post fight interview also has great replay value. "D-d-d-d-dey did some fucked up to shit to me man, having me play promoter.....B-b-b-but I make know excuses man, I'm a g-g-g-great sport about it."

Fights like Marquez-Vasquez, Barrera-Marquez, Mormeck-Bell II, and Katsidis-Earl also get a lot of rotation. I've also watched Miranda-Pavlik around 3 times already.

Yeah I watch Holy's fights over and over! It's almost like you find things that you've missed the first time around. My favorite is D'Wight Braxton/Holy (Quawi Muhummad).:slap:
