Default Ricardo Mayorga vs. Zab Judah @ 147

Judah is definitely the more skilled fighter, but Mayorga was a pretty good puncher at 147 and Judah is not only chinny, but tends to go into a shell when he tastes some good shots.

Does Judah's superior speed and skill win it, or does Mayorga get through to stop Judah, or make him run his way to a close fight?

The Mayorga who beat Forrest will beat Judah. Mayorga had a iron chin and will not be hurt. Bad fight for Judah.

    Mayorga tko 8 Judah

A few years back I would definetly go with Mayorga ....

Prime Mayo intimidates Zab and knocks him out ...

Mayorga by decision. You've gotta look at the Baldomir fight in this one. Maybe Zab wasn't at his best re Carlos..but then again Carlos doesn't punch as hard as Mayorga either. So it evens out.

Baldomir is also slower of hand and foot compared to Mayorga ....

    I would have loved to see a Gatti/Mayorga fight at 147 ...
Someone is going to the hospital ...

Zab either gets TKO'd, or goes into survival mode and loses a UD. Either way, he cant handle pressure, and wouldnt beat a prime Mayo.

The Zab who beat Spinks beats Mayorga. Hell probably the Zab who lost to Baldomir beats Mayorga. At least Baldomir knows how throw boxer like punches rather than flailing away like a sissygirl which is all Mayorga knows how to do.

Some will argue it's as many hits as Zab has garnered in his pro career. Honestly, aside from the Spinks rematch, what has Zab done as a pro to justify even a 1/10th of the hype.
Did you know... that Vince Phillips moved down in weight to win a title?

judah beat a lot of top 10 contenders throughout. he also did well vs. floyd in the first few rounds and managed to hurt him.

even the first stinks fight, some thought he did enough to win.

although his performance has been inconsistent, he still beat a lot of contenders here and there.

mayorga has two impressive wins (vs forrest and 6 heads) and has done zero since.

    A lot?

Corley, Millett, Spinks... if you want to throw in Weis, fine.

Witter became Top 10 well after the fact.

Not exactly a who's who of boxing
