Shamrock said after the fight he'd torn his ACL and MCL a couple weeks ago, in Dan Henderson's gym...when he was working out with Sokoudjou.

He needed help out of the cage and was using a cane to get around afterwards.:eek:ld: :eek:ld: :eek:ld:

It wouldn't have mattered. Baroni's only shot of beating any skilled jujitsu fighter is to land the big bomb. Shamrock is too good for a guy like Baroni, torn ACL/MCL or not.

Yes, he's the MMA equivalent of Ricardo Mayorga...and almost everybody knew it going in.

But he was gassed out like hell after that eh? Frank was huffing and puffing on his stool, I thought "What the hell's wrong with him?"
But he's very inactive anyway so it's obvious. He doesn't really train for competition year-round.
Funny thing is, Baroni was going all "No way can he stand toe to toe with me and punch", and then Frank knocked his ass down with what, a wicked 3 punch combo was it? He was smacking Baroni's ass all over the cage.
Just imagine if Frank was in supreme cardio shape. He's obviously not as you can tell but if he was, Baroni would've been toast early.

Frank is back full time now so we'll see in the future but yeah I couldn't believe he was breathing that hard after the fight but again he's not 24 anymore so I think that has alot to do with it. Frank's still the fucking man though!!

Dana White hates his guts and Frank hates him more than anything, so I doubt we'll see Frank going for the big boys in the UFC anytime soon. I hope the EliteFC grows. They've just signed Soukjoudu, did you know? The african fellow who KO'd Noguira and Arona with single punches in the first round back in Pride.
It's too bad the UFC gave him a sh*t contract cause I think Soukjoudu might've been a good crowd-pleasing fighter for 205 with a lot of comp available.

Shamrock gave him a whupping. The card was pretty enjoyable.

Cung Le doesn't seem to have adapted much to the MMA style, he's very stand up and was careful to avoid a ground match. I'm new to the whole MMA thing so I don't know much about the styles. From what I hear, he's pretty selective in whom he fights in the MMA so his weaknesses are less likely to be exploited.

I didn't know whom the other fighters were, but they were some decent fights and none lasted the distance.

At the end I tried to go down and yell and cuss at Gary Shaw, but the usher sent me back up before I could yell at him.

Frank , not even mentioning his injuries was clearly not in his best shape.

His conditioning was horrible ... Thats the type of situation that the better fighter can lose to an inferior fighter just because of conditioning ...

Anyway , it was a good fight to watch. Baroni looked like he was dead at the end right before the Ref pulled them apart...

    Here is the working link.
