    SoCal bound

While the main event for UFC 76, which marks the return of MMA to Southern California, has yet to be announced, one fighter is already confirmed to be in action.

Mauricio Shogun Rua will make his UFC debut when the company makes its return to the Honda Center in Anaheim on September 22.

Rua's opponent has yet to be named, though rumors are circulating that it will be Lyoto Machida. Renato "Babalu" Sobral is also a possibility.

Rua is very good, he's one of my favourites at the moment in MMA. I think he'll make a big splash in UFC. He's a very fun fighter to watch.:bears:

I'll be at 73 tommorrow night, but I'm not sure about this one. If Rua-Machida materializes, I'd like to be there.

    Great fight if it happens.

Machida has an awesome resume with some pretty big names on it, I'm amazed he's not more well known then he is.

Good point, but when you're undefeated and have beaten the likes of Rich Franklin, BJ Penn, Vernon White, Stephan Bonnar and Sam Hoger, all familiar names to mainstream fans, you'd think there'd be a litte more buzz.

Yeah in Sacramento right? I wish I could've went, but I'm busy getting my stuff together for my SoCal move.

I would like to go to UFC 76 though if Rua-Machida is the main event. I think Rua would lose though.

People don't know that Machida beat those guys early in there careers and his fight with BJ was High Way Robbery IMO

Machida won the Penn fight, but Penn was fighting about 40-50 lbs above where he should fight.....also, I think the fight was originally ruled a draw

The Bonnar fight was just a HUGE cut

    Franklin, he straight up WHOOPED

and as for "early in there careers", its not like Lyoto has a tone of fights either, so he's not the most experienced guy....

Bottom line is Shogun is just WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better
