St Pierre looked pretty fucking good actually, in his first fight back. Koscheck is no bum, a great wrestler, and Pierre just beat the fuck out of him in rounds 2 and 3. Kos looked like a beaten man, he was outclassed. Unbelievably he took kos down, outwrestled him, got a couple of submission attemps, and showed amazing takedown defense.
St Pierre is still wide open for the right hand and that can be a problem against an experienced standup fighter but I agree he looked fantastic in DOMINATING Koscheck at his own game.
i was impressed by st pierre's swift double leg take down. it's not easy taking down a former NCAA champ and st pierre did it w/ ease. hopefully he'll get a shot at the winner of hughes-serra. i hope serra somehow wins since I dont really care for st. pierre-hughes rubbermatch.
I'm not counting Matt Serra out in this fight.I think he's has the tools to pose a huge problem for Hughes.
When has Hughes ever shown a bad chin? It took a kick on the side of the head to put him down. He ate BJ Penn's bombs and kept coming. :dunno:
GSP knocked Hughes on his ass almost unconscious at the end of the first round in their rematch with a 2 punch combination. Hughes' eyes were glazed and GSP was this close to taking him out right there on the ground but the bell saved Hughes. GSP proceeded to KO Hughes in the next round. Hughes' chin is very suspect. Serra can beat him the same way.
I think Hughes' is gonna want to lay and pray Serra to a decision. Serra I think wants to stand and bomb Hughes out of there like he did to GSP. If it's a stand up, my money is completely on Serra. Hughes sucks dogs balls standing.
He can also sub Hughes on the ground, that's why I think he can beat Hughes,he has more advantages than people think.Serra's jujitsu is highly respected, watch his fight with BJ Penn,Penn wanted no part of Serra on the ground, now that's saying something.
