He's also high in making a bout between Couture/Fedor. CroCop needs to get by Congo first on July 8th and that's not a given.

Nothing is a given in MMA and that's part of the reason why boxing is better. Sure it's never 100% in boxing eiether...as anything can happen...but Mayweather would beat Gatti 100 times out of 100 times...in MMA one kick or quick ground and pound could change EVERYTHING in a second.

That's because in boxing, you can only fight with your hands. In MMA, you can get hit or caught with anything. Kicks, knees, elbows, punches, slams, chokes, any type of submission.
Do you think Floyd would beat Gatti 100 times out of 100 in a UFC cage under UFC rules? Doubt it.

Why should Crocop get a shot at the belt after getting knocked out by Gonzaga? The Crocop/Gonzaga fight was to determine who fought Couture in the first place.

    I'd like to see Coutore/Fedor.

And Fedor will beat Ken Shamrock 100 times out of 100.

Even though I agree that MMA is a bit more spontaneous, I kinda think that makes it a bit more entertaining at times.

Besides, boxing has its fair share of upsets as well.

How does that make boxing better? If anything, that would make MMA better.

What's good about UFC is the fact that nobody got a Zero in their Loss column. So any given fighter can lose, and not be buried like in professional boxing. Cro Cop vs. Couture is still an intriguing match.

Upsets are good to a degree but watching a guy like GSP getting KO'ed while standing to Matt Serra is bad. Actually the UFC will have a hard time marketing if all there "boys" continue to lose.

Exactly. He's slipping down the rankings by fighting nobody. He fought Linland in his last fight. The best HW in the world fought a damn MW. That is pathetic.

Fedor was talking with K-1, I doubt they are paying more than the UFC. All the other guys coming in from Pride have made some good money in the UFC.

If Couture fights smart against Cro-Cop he wins the fight. Cro-Cop's ground game isn't exactly spectacular. He was easily controlled by Gonzaga on the ground.

CroCop normally has shown an ability to stand the fight back up. He trains in BJJ with Fabricio Werdum and from what I've seen, Mirko trains in a way where he has Werdum on top in Mirko's guard and CroCop tries to get to his feet. Oddly enough, Werdum is the man who beat the crap out of Gonzaga who in turn beat CroCop.

    Haha, yep.

I think Randy will be able to hold Cro Cop down without too much trouble.

Dana white basically has a monopoly. If Fedor wants to fight in obscurity that is fine I guess.

Cro Cop, assuming his loss vs Gonzaga was a fluke, will beat Couture up or run his way to a decision

I am a boxing fan first and foremost, I love boxing.

However you have a good point and that's one of my favourite things about MMA. A loss is seen more like it used to be in boxing, just a loss. You win some, you lose some, setup a rematch.

Cro Cop would have a good shot of knocking out Couture, no way he wins a decision though.

Nope, he will be controlled if the fight goes to the ground which it will no doubt. I actually slightly favor Couture over Cro-Cop. If Randy can avoid the strikes and get it to the ground he wins. He could very well get KO'd though too.

CroCop could fend off Randy's clinch off the fence, much like Liddell did using explosive strikes. I don't know where CroCop's hunger and confidence is at right now though.

For sure, if it stays standing at all Randy is in trouble even in the clinch. He needs to take Cro Cop down right away every time they are standing.

CroCop has trained his JJ with Werdum for a couple of years now. That was when he was still doing his training inside a ring. Recently, he bought a UFC cage for his basement and is now making the transition. He has acquired the K1 skills of Remy Bojansky, Gilbert Yvel and the submission/grappling skills of Dean Lister.
From what I'm reading, CroCop is now more focused than ever.

I'm glad to hear it. I'm a fan of Crop Cop for sure, he's one of the most exciting fighters in MMA.
