Since UFC is being shown via tape delay tonight, and live results will be easily available on the internet, and since I don't want to know who wins before I watch the fights, I'd appreciate it if nobody posted any spoilers on the board.

If they do, they should be banned.

    Agreed?

So we can post spoilers in here?

    SPOILER////////////////////////////////////////////

Cro Cop looked utterly shot. Just unbelievable compared to what a good striker he used to be. He looked slow, apprehensive, clumsy, innacurate. He should just retire now, he looked like he didn't even really want to fight.

I don't think the UFC surface helps him much.

what's the surface difference between pride and UFC rings?

I don't think it can be that, he just looked flat, slow and unmotivated.

Bloody hell, bisping looks rubbish here. Looks scared of hammil, hammil owning him in standup, bisping fighting like a pussy, just backpeddling the whole way.

Bisping finally came to life a bit and won the 3rd round, but just too late. He did fuck all and got dominated in the first 2, fought like a queer.

It makes me think 3 rounds is just shit, they need more rounds, it's simply not enough time for the tides to turn.

    Wow, Bisping got the decision.

Robbery. I was rooting for Bisping but he didn't win that fight. Hammil won the first 2 rounds HANDS down, and Bisping clearly won the 3rd.

The Hendo - Rampage fight was very close. Personally I feel like Hendo may have just nicked it. He won the first 2 rounds, and although he looked gassed and rampage's striking was predictably better, I thought Hendo won a close 5th round.

But the fight was very close and hard to score, so Rampage winning is fine.

They were pretty evenly matched, and both strong bastards, but I was disappointed in the fight. It was pretty boring to be honest. It was almost a bit too evenly matched, no swings in momentum, no sustained striking, no real submission attempts.

This was a surprisingly dull UFC actually.

I thought the cro cop, bisping AND hendo/rampage fights were all going to be good, and all 3 were shit.

Cro cop looked shot and rubbish, congo is nothing special, just won a boring decision.

Bisping looked worse, and more dull and scared than I have ever seen him look, the fight was boring.

And then the main event, which I hoped would turn into a vicious striking match was dull again.

The last UFC with randy pumelling gonzaga etc was MUCH better.

I don't have a problem with that, I think it was the deciding round, and could have gone either way.

Unless there are different elements of scoring for this sport, I can't see how the bout would be scored any other way than how you had it.

Not terribly surprised they gave Bisping the decision; it's nice to see that shitty decisions aren't limited to boxing.

I don't know anything about how these fights are scored, but in my opinion there's NO WAY that guy won that fight.

Is it scored on points on only round by round? :dunno:

OK serious question for MMA experts...

How do you score some of these rounds in this fight, where most of it is spent on the ground? Does Henderson get credit for keeping Rampage on the mat and preventing him from getting off (through the first 3 rounds, that is), or do you ignore it and base it on whatever other action took place (similar to a boxing fight where maybe 1 or 2 significant punches rule an otherwise uneventful round).

Needless to say I'm not even attempting to score this fight, just wanted to know for future reference.

Bisping-Hammil was just a horrible decision. Jackson-Henderson was a damn close fight. I thought Jackson won 3-2 but wouldn't complain about anyone who thought Henderson won.

Alexander looked good in blowing out Sakara. I wonder who they'll match him up with next?

Davis vs. Taylor was a great fight while it lasted. Lots of back and forth action.

Cro Cop looked like shit, and fought like he's just not interested anymore. Now instead of Randy\Cro Cop, I guess we're gonna see Randy\Kongo. That sucks.

Hamill vs. Bisping was a very fun fight, ruined by a horrible hometown decision. Hamill looked very improved, but was gassed by the end. Bisping took to long to adjust to Hamill's improved standup. I want to see a rematch on American soil.

Rampage\Henderson was a good, close fight and entertaining to real MMA fans, but the average Joe probably was bored to tears by it. It was close and could've gone either way, but I think they got it right. I'm sure Dana and the UFC brass was hoping for something a little more exciting though.

Interesting to hear Rogan mention Brock Lesnar. Could it be a sign of things to come?

All in all, a good night of fights, with the exception of Cro Cops total non effort.

The 5th round was close as well. Some people seem to think Henderson won. I can't argue with them to much. If given the benefit of the doubt I could see giving him 3 rounds. I had jackson winning though. Unlike the Rua and Linland fights.
