New York, NY – September 11, 2007 – The first ever UFC title fight on Spike TV drew a staggering 4.7 million viewers on Saturday, September 8 (9:00pm-12:11am) making it the most watched UFC event ever and the most watched mixed martial arts event ever in North America. The “UFC 75†telecast emanating from the O2 Arena in London, England peaked at 5.6 million for the bout between UFC light heavyweight champion Quinton “Rampage†Jackson and PRIDE champ Dan Henderson. The fight card drew more Men 18-34 and Men 18-49 than anything else on television, broadcast or cable on September 8, including heavy sports competition from college football on ABC and ESPN, NASCAR on ABC, and the U.S. Open Women’s Final on CBS. http://fightbeat.com/news_details.php?NW=20250
UFC 75 scored a 3.1 rating. The same rating that was scored by Ultimate Fight Night last year with the special Ortiz/Shamrock III grudge match. A good rating for sure. Also, the men's U.S Open final of Federer/Djokovic on Sunday scored a 4.2 rating on CBS, down from the 5.1 rating scored last year for the men's final of Federer/Roddick.
DLH vs. Mayweather would do 15-20 million easy....but the rating would start dropping as the fight progress... Mayweather vs. Hatton could both do 10-15 million... Mosley vs. Cotto...about 5-10..
Great number when you consider it was tape delayed, and the results were easily available on the internet. TFK
yeah..i think they both did between 2.5-5.5 weekly during their monday night wars...WWE hit as low as 1,0 or something during the early days of Nitro....before Stone cold/the rock/etc....
Those were the golden years of modern wrestling  Every monday I sat with my friends and my bro, and spent 4 hours switching channels to watch both shows.
