Most athletes can't find at all because it's obviously not part of their profession. However many guys out there grew up on the streets and certainly know how to scrap and defend themselves. Not to mention some of those guys are immense and obviously physically gifted.

A prime Charles Barkely is not somebody 99% of people would want to fuck with. That's just one name i thought of.

Assuming they were given some basic training what guys from other sports do you think might be able to do well in MMA?

By 'well' i don't mean be a champion, but at least win a few against the lower class competition.

What? On the contrary. Read the post again.

I didn't say give "so and so" some training and they would kick ass in MMA or anything close. You have to do it for a living to be really good at it let alone in the upper echelon.

I'm just wondering what guys from other sports do you think would be able to compete based upon their background and physical skills/size.

He was also an athletically talented guy but I wouldn't pick him necessarily.

(Real) wrestlers are an obvious choise. Otherwise, since it is a sport, decathlon athletes might be good in it too. They would need more stamina but they have combination on strength, explosive power and coordination
