UFC 78 is hurting for a marquee Main Event. Although Frankie Edgar\Spencer Fisher is an awesome fight. I'm sure Rhino Fight Team is gonna be bringing a lot of people to the card, so that place is gonna be going bonkers for Edgar.

Here is what they have so far for the card...

UFC 78: NOVEMBER 17, 2007 IN NEW JERSEY
    likely location: Newark, New Jersey

-Karo Parisyan (#6 Welterweight in the World)* vs. Hector Lombard
    -Spencer Fisher vs. Frankie Edgar
    -Thiago Alves vs. Ryo Chonan
    -Akihiro Gono vs. Tamdan McCrory
    -David Terrell vs. Ed Herman
    -Joe Lauzon vs. Jason Reinhardt

I'm sorry, but with the amount of talent UFC has under contract right now, there is no excuse not to have a better lineup then that.

They scrapped it and for good reason because there last fight wasn't great and it sure as hell not a main event fight, plus I'm more excited about Hendo vs Ortiz anyway because it has that dreammatch feel to it(Its not a god forsaken rematch:doh:).

Here is the full rumored card...

    Main Card Bouts:
    -Rashad Evans vs. Michael Bisping
-Karo Parisyan (#6 Welterweight in the World)* vs. Hector Lombard
    -Spencer Fisher vs. Frankie Edgar
    -Houston Alexander vs. Thiago Silva
    -David Terrell vs. Ed Herman

    Preliminary Bouts:
    -Thiago Alves vs. Ryo Chonan
    -Akihiro Gono vs. Tamdan McCrory
    -Joe Lauzon vs. Jason Reinhardt

There are a lot of good fights on the card, but it still lacks a legit PPV worthy main event. I'd be shocked if they didn't add another more high profile fight before it's all said and done.

Interesting that Bisping is fighting Evans instead of a rematch with Hamill. My guess is Bisping wanted no part of a rematch.

Frankie Edgar\Spencer Fisher is a great matchup, and two of my favorite fighters. Since Edgar\Rhino Fight Team is based out of NJ, expect Edgar to be a huge crowd favorite. If Edgar wins (and I think he will) I expect to see an Edgar\Griffin rematch in 2008, maybe for the lightweight title.

This card is in Newark, which isn't far from my house, and I want to go in the worst way, but it's the weekend of my 1st Anniversary, so chances are I'll be away for the weekend with my wife, so not only will I miss it live, I probably won't see it on PPV either. And that sucks.

I'm content with Ortiz/Henderson and Evans/Bisping. I also feel that, despite some cards looking weak on paper, often these cards tend to be the most entertaining. I don't know why but that's just how it is. When fighters are evenly matched then we get a decent fight.

I think the card is excellent, like I said, it has a lot of good fights on it. I just don't think Evans\Bisping is a PPV worthy main event. Ortiz\Henderson is, even though Tito really is nothing more then a name and would probably get beat pretty easily by Hendo, but from what I've read, that fight isn't gonna happen...at least not at 78.

Agreed. Evans/Bisping as a ppv main event will not work. It needs a co-main event like Tito/Henderson or even a Tito/Griffin 2.

Tito\Griffin 2 would probably get a big buy rate, but I'm not sure if Forrest can come back so quickly from his fight with Rua. In fact, I think he may be on medical suspension because of his cuts.

if they put Tito/Henderson as the main event, then it would be a good card. Is Hector Lombard any good?

And is David Terrell the guy that ko'd Lindland and lost to Tanner?

If the Tito/Henderson fight comes off I see no reason that hendo shouldn't win. He'd be a bit smaller, but I don't think Tito can out wrestle and definitely can't out strike him.

Its not a bad card with Henderson/Ortiz as the main event with Evans/Bisping right before it. I must admit though. UFC PPV's are starting to go downward, not a good trend if you ask me.

Anyone know if Henderson has plans to fight at MW? IMO, he dominates the UFC MW division. Penn might give him troubles, but I see him beating Penn as well.

Bisping is a fucking joke IMO. The stupidass got a total gift against Hamil. The whole crowd new it too. And then he shows his ass by talking shit afterwards with Joe Rogan, who like the pussy he is doesn't call him on it. I really think Evans is going to whup his ass, and I will drink a beer to that.

Penn fought at lightweight(155) against Pulver. He hasn't been back since.

Henderson should go down to 185. I see him being a wrecking machine there.

That's because he hasn't fought since, because the Lightweight Champion is a roider.

In all honesty, in spite of the lack of a true PPV worthy main event, UFC 78 is a much, much better card top to bottom then UFC 77.

    Here are the two cards...

Aside from Franklin\Silva 2, and Sylvia\Vera, and maybe Okami\MacDonald, there really isn't much to get excited about on the card.

I can't believe they're showing Starnes/Belcher on the main card, and not MacDonald/Okami.
