Mir is completely shot. You think they would make this fight if Mir was in his peak form before his devastating motorcycle accident? He's been getting his face smashed in by most everybody lately.

Its a shame really because he had the potential to be a very dominant heavyweight

I think it's a good matchup. Mir isn't the same fighter he was before the accident, but he's still a dangerous fighter, and wrestlers tend to have a tough time with BJJ fighters.

Honestly, I'm amazed they put him in with someone at Mir's level, and not someone like an Eddie Sanchez or Justin Eilers.

It should make for an interesting fight.

    *** Edit ****

By the way, I think Mir does an excellent job commentating for WEC. He definitely has a career in broadcasting when he
    s done fighting.

he's very charismatic, I hope he replaces Mike Goldberg in the soon future, although I don't see himm and Joe Rogan working well together.

Why not? Lesnar with his amateur wrestling background feels he's ready to step up and therefore Dana White is wasting no time in putting him in there with a fighter of substance, although Mir is long past his best and has not been anywhere near the same since his motorcycle accident and has been getting crushed lately.
    Who do you think wins?

I think Lesnar wins. He's freakishly strong, even without the roids, he's a world class wrestler, and he has a mean streak. Also, he's on his way up, and Mir is on his way down.

I don't think Mir has ever fully recovered from his accident, and his head just doesn't seem to be into it. I mean, he lost to Brandon Vera for Christ's sake. The Mir of 2004 would've subbed Vera easily.

It should be a stacked card. I doubt this will be the main event. Also, Tyson Griffin is rumored to fight Gleason Tibau. Griffin is one of my favorite fighters and is never in a boring fight.

And since I'll be out in Vegas like I always am for the Superbowl, I might have to pick up some tickets.
