I hadn't even heard of Sambo until Fedor.

Is it practiced much outside of Russia/Easter Europe? Do any other MMA noteables have a background in it? (i'm assuming Fedor's brother must know some Sambo)

Why not? Wow, Fedor won a sambo championship....big deal. Until Fedor is interested in fighting some competition nobody should care about him.

He don't need to fight guys like barnett,Couture,Sylvia,Gonzaga,Arlovski etc, etc? It's just OK for him to cherry pick and even fight MIDDLEWEIGHTS? You act like he completely cleaned out the division when that's not true. He beat Cro Cop,Nog,Hunt and that's about it for top fighters. Fedor in the ring is damn impressive but his recent competition isn't.

You are so far from the truth. Fedor is proving that Dana White and the UFC aren't the only game in town. 20 years from now Fedor will be looked at as a pioneer in MMA. The guy who proved you could make a great living as a free agent in MMA. The UFC has been underpaying their fighters for years and Fedor is trying to change that. The same thing Tito tried but caved as well as Randy.

Fighting garbage does not make a legacy. it's great that he got a good deal from M-1. It's not great that he is fighting a complete and utter can.

I don;t need to go anywhere. The guy's best wins are Nog,Hunt and Cro Cop. besides that his resume is quite hollow and he's beaten a lot of cans. he's come nowhere close to cleaning out the division. Not even close. Sorry but guys like Zulu are not top contenders

Fedor don't need to fight guys like Couture,Sylvia,Arlovski,Barnett,Gonzaga, etc, etc because he's the best. No need to ever fight other top guys. he can just fight the Hong man Choi's of the world. :cheer:

That's irrelevant. You can't live on the past forever. Like I said, he hasn't cleaned out anything.

My ass its irrelevant. It makes him rellevant, and is exactly why he has the leverage in negotiations. Dana White doesn't like it and tries to downplay it. But the world knows the name Fedor. Hardly anyone outside of hardore fans know anyone but Randy in that weak ass UFC HW division.

In the US, Fedor isn't any more known than a guy like Arlovski. Sad but true because Pride never made it over here. There PPV numbers stunk, same with Bodog where Fedor beat Linland. The UFC don't need Fedor at all, if they did need him they would have signed him. Fedor made to many demands so they told him to go on his way. Fedor has no leverage with the UFC. Fedor don't get a life pass because he beat 3 good heavyweights either. That's ridiculous.

Your question's already answered. It's irrelevant. Perhaps some day some of you will get out of Fedor's ass. This guy is a real disappointment.

alright man, we see it from different sides. But if Fedor is so irrelevant, why even post about him, dog? Go to Sherdog and this forum as well. There is a thread about him everyday. MMA fans want Fedor and the discontent with the UFC putting up shitty ass ppv's and not signing Fedor is getting old with them.

    Peace.

Is he? Throughought his whole career he fought a pretty high level of competition. Sure he's gotten old and gotten beaten up but had a great career anyways. If that's a disappointing career then I don't know what it takes to have a good career. I guess pussing out and fighting non factors in other organizations that have no talent.

Chuck Liddell is a disappointment, losing to Keith Jardine is a huge disappointment. It didn't happen because he is old, it happened because he didn't train and that shows his lack of dedication to his sport.

Fights like an old fighter. A guy who can see the openings but can't get to them. Considering he is 36 or 37 and has a boxers style that makes sense.
