Im my mind one of the reasons why MMA is so popular is because their highlight reels are very good. When you can put a highlight reel commercial up of guys getting KTFO by Punches, knees, strikes, slams and elbows it is damn impressive.

Mine is Dan Henderson knocking out Wanderlei Silva at Pride 33. Picture perfect left hook followed up with an overhand right while Silva is laid unconscious. A close second is Yves Edwards knocking out Josh Thompson at UFC 49 with a flying kick as Thompson attempted a spinning back fist.

So what is your favourite MMA Ko?!?

How come you suddenly like MMA? I'm sure the last time you were talking about it, you seemed to hate it.

Henderson and Cro Cop's KOs over Wanderlei are great, and savage.

Wanderlei's first KO of Jackson is classic highlight reel.

I love Gomi's KO over Ralph Gracie too, it's hilarious. As is Emilianenko minor's KO over Thompson.

I must like it i mean i watch it alot. I don't like Golf, Baseball and Nascar. I never watch it and never give a damn about them sports.

I just don't like how they started to badmouth boxing as soon as they got some popularity.

Is the Edwards the same guy who knocked Berto's brother out this weekend with a flying knee strike, while Berto had a hold of Edwards' other leg? If so, that dude is crazy and so was that KO

That wasn't a sucker shot, Smith was legitimately hurt, and hurt bad, but gutted it out to throw a desperation shot at Sell when he charged. Once the fight ended, both fighters were down, and hurting.

I don't know, when he throws the punch, and then finishes the fight, it doesen't look like he is very hurt. Maybe he just faked his pain, because he was afraid that Sell would think of faking being hurt as being a cheap thing to do. :dunno:

    But maybe not.

Watch the replays, and see how long Smith stays down for after he wins.

And you don't feel the full effects of body shots right away. It hurt when he was hit, but a few seconds later, the real pain kicked in.

There was no possum playing there.

MMA takes away the thrill of seeing a great ko. With the little gloves, the rules favoring standup, and the ground-talent pool watered down, highlight ko's are so common in mma as to be uneventful.

Some see this as a strength of mma, and as far as getting popular I would agree, but I think it hurts its staying power in the long run. I may be wrong. I just use the analogy of drugs...alcohol and pot can be popular your entire life because they are usually less intense. Cocaine, meth...burn people out...

People tune in to combat sports for knockouts. I think your drug reference really shows where your head is at and how it was affected.

One I forgot, Cop Cop Vs Sapp

It's fucking hilarious, Sapp gets punched in the face, then just crumples to the ground and starts crying.

Joachim Hansen's KO of Masakatsu Imanari in Pride a few years ago was definitely highlight reel-worthy. I fullout knees him in the face, sending him flying backwards...and then Hansen just walks away because he KNOWS Imanari is done.

The first time I saw Rampage lift a dude over his head and slam him in Pride will always stick with me. I know it wasn't a punch KO, but it just blew my mind at the time.
