I say Lennox easily. Tyson seemingly put 100% into each shot whereas Lewis jabbed boxed a lot and landed some pot shot right hands and only once in a while unleashed his punches with the full wrath and the results were devestating.

Lewis' full force right hand might have been harder than Mike's. Maybe. But overall in terms of the consistency of the shots thrown, Mike was the better puncher.

    Tyson clearly.

Tyson could generate power in a 6 inch shot. Look at the little right hand that put Botha OUT.

Lewis loaded up on his right hands, full leverage, and they still didn't have the same effect on Botha.

I'd say Botha plus almost every other fight in their career.

It's Tyson, clearly. His punches had at least as much effect as Lewis but with half the distance travelled and less weight behind them.

Lewis was a big strong man that knew how to get full leverage in his punches. And even then, couldn't put a dent in 2 cruiserweights.

Tyson was a small heavyweight that knocked people TFO with 6 inch hooks and right hands that looked like not much more than an arm punch.

    It's Tyson, without question.

Not necessarily. I think Tyson consistently had more effect with single punches. Most of Lewis' KOs were combos. Which think in retrospect he was much better at delivering than Tyson.

But in terms of raw 1 punch power, factoring in both hands at least - Tyson.

You understand that leverage and distance travelled have nothing to do with the question though, right?

Yeah, let's hold Lewis' superior technique against him.

The fact is, even though he's getting more leverage (:atu:), LL's right hand was harder than anything Mike threw.

So were many of Tyson's shots. You got one example right there. Tyson has a shit load of those.

As far as 1 punch ko power it has to go to Lewis. With Tyson is was more of a combination of punches that took his opponents out.

Are you mad? I'm saying Lewis has inferior technique because to get full power in his shots he had to LOAD up on the right hand.

His technique was crap, he just had very good power in the right. It was a big, telegraphed, overhand right.

Tyson would throw very fast, short, crisp shots that knocked guys TFO.

Look at Williams or Berbick or Botha or any number of Tyson KO's. He had freakish power from single shots.

The fact is, despite getting LESS leverage (:atu:), Tyson's right AND left hand were both harder than Lewis's right hand.

Lennox's OVERHAND RIGHT was Harder than Anything Tyson Threw, but Tyson Threw EVERY OTHER Punch w/MORE Authority (Minus the Left Jab, Obviously...) Right HOOKS, Right UPPERCUTS, Right CROSSES & those Same Punches w/the Left Hand (INCLUDING the OVERHAND Left), Tyson Hit HARDER w/...

Tyson's THE BEST 2-Fisted Puncher EVER, in REED's Opinion...@ his Best, he ALWAYS Threw in Combinations, Despite Having Legitimate SINGLE SHOT Power...In MORE than a Few of Tyson's KO's, the Opponent was ALREADY Out from a Particular Shot, yet Due to Sheer HANDSPEED & Combination Punching, Mike LANDED 1 or 2 More Shots Anyways...

Better HANDSPEED, Better COMBINATION Puncher & More ACCURATE...Tyson was the BETTER Puncher...Again, Lennox Hit Harder w/his OVERHAND Right, but that's Like Having a SMALL Dick, a SMALL Right Testicle, yet an ENORMOUS LEFT Testicle...

@ the End of the Day, WHO Gives a Fuck???...

I laugh hysterically every time I hear Merchant say that Rahman is complaining about not getting the full count, all the while still laying on the canvas.

Tyson had much, much shorter arms. This argument is flawed.

This is why Tyson is the clear pick. The question doesn't ask for out and out power, it asks for ko power. That's Tyson, for sure.

That's the thing, and I agree with you, I think Tyson is the best 2 handed puncher ever, of any weight class. When you consider he was smaller than most of his opponents too, you'd have to say he was simply the best puncher ever, P4P, in boxing history.

Both his right and left hook, and both uppercuts too, carried insane power. Even his jab was hard.

I used to think like you, and that perhaps Lummox's right hand was slightly harder than any single punch of Tyson's, yet because of his speed, 2 fisted power, and arsenal of punches, Tyson is clearly the "better" puncher.

But the more I think about it and look at all their fights, I agree with Hut. I think Tyson even beats him for pure 1 punch power. Tyson has a LOT of 1 punch KO's, or fights where he effectively ends a fight with 1 punch. Over decent enough opposition too.

The only fight where Lewis's right hand looked THAT hard is against Rahman in the rematch, probably the hardest right hand he ever threw.

Tyson showed more consistent one punch power throughout his career, in both hands.

Put it this way. If you had to put your hands behind your back and let one of them hit you with their best shot who would you pick? To me Tyson would knock you the fuck out whereas Lewis would flat out kill you lol
