He's been doing it for years. The only difference between Green & Mundine (often pictured in the Australian media as the good & bad guys, respectively, of the sport for Australia) is that Green endeavours to endear himself to the average Aussie, & Mundine revels in being despised. Their actual career trajectories are similarly cynical (Mundine has been worse, but still), & this is just another effort from Green to sell a washed-up American with some glory distant in their rear-view mirror as a legit opponent to an Australian mainstream as familiar with Boxing as the Irish are with sobriety (had to tag you back, Mr. Irish).

Needless to say, I don't watch false idols like Green & Mundine, when we have real heroes in the sport, however limited (Michael Katsidis), to be proud of.
