In my previous job, I once walked in to the office on a March 15 and I wearily told my co-workers "Aye... beware the ides of March" ... no one knew what I was talking about, out of about a dozen people except one woman in her 60s who said "Et tu, Brutus?" It was sad, to me
Nice non-review there complete with a non-score. You're in timeout my friend, go log on then sit in a corner for an hour and stare at your monitor without posting til you learn to make a proper movie thread. issed:
And we'll do the same in the near future right after you give a 10/10 to Michael Fassbender's next theatrical release. In fact if you want you can go on IMDB catch the title for Fassbender's next film, title a thread about it, give it a 10/10 and fill in the rest after you see it. Now that's what you call a hard on.
Yeah, Sly has a fag crush on Fassbender. He even went as far as to say he's better looking than Gosling. As if I give a shit about thier looks. BTW - Gosling doesnt even give the best performance in this movie. Philip Seymour Hoffman does.
should be "et tu, Brute?", the vocative case, since caesar would have been addressing Brutus. that 60-year-old woman was a philistine.
disagree... she was someone who at least was aware of the reference, if not the proper tense of the statement the real philistines were the people who didn't have the first clue as to what I was talking about
I had started this film one time but the beginning scene looked so dark and boring I switched it off. Luckily the lil lady wanted to check it out since she has a hard on for Clonney (yes even at his advanced age). Anyway... This was just what you want from a drama. Great, pacing, directing, flow and of course outstanding dialogue. Gosling was very good but like others have mentioned he wasn't even the best guy here. Clooney was okay here but I thought he could have been better. Hoffman was brilliant as usual and Giamatti reminded us there are no small roles only small actors as I enjoyed what little of him they gave me. You even had the underrated Jeffrey White making an even smaller appearance than Giamatti which we can chalk up to another Hollywood Racist Moment . Marisa Tomei makes an appearance too but she never struck me as anything but an average actress and doesn't give herself much of an argument to the contrary. 8.5/10 Good replay value. Oh yeah, and the lil lady was bored as usual.
